Weekend's Big Winning Bets 12.09.2022

After the sad passing of Her Majesty the Queen on Thursday, a number of sports across the UK were suspended as a mark of respect including football at all levels, racing on Friday and Saturday and day two of the Test between England and South Africa.

There was still plenty going ahead and the respectful scenes at the Oval, Doncaster races and rugby league and union grounds up and down the country will live long in the memory.

Read on below to find three of our biggest spread winners over the past few days.

Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.

JUVENTUS v SALERNITANA – SHIRTS x BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 32240)

One of the biggest make-ups in recent months occurred yesterday as Juventus welcomed Salernitana with the Old Lady looking to get some wins on the board after a stuttering start to the season.

Things didn’t get off to a great start for Juve as former Italian international Antonio Candreva (shirt number 87) put the visitors in front and they went further ahead when Krzysztof Piątek (99) converted a penalty on the stroke of half time.

Recent signing Bremer (3) headed one back for the hosts who managed to snatch a late equaliser through Leonardo Bonucci (19) in the 93rd minute. The drama was not over though as Arkadiusz Milik thought he had bagged a 95th minute winner and celebrated by removing his shirt, which saw him sent off for a second bookable offence.

The goal though was not given, and as the two sides clashed on the pitch Juan Cuadrado and Federico Fazio were both given straight red cards. After a crazy game, Shirt Numbers settled at 208, Booking Points settled at 155, leaving Shirts x Bookings to settle at a whopping 32240. Buyers on a pre-match spread of 3450-3750 were left living la dolce vita as they claimed a win of 28490x their stake.

NEWCASTLE FALCONS v HARLEQUINS – MATCH CROSS-POINTS (SETTLED AT 1240)

The Premiership was back this weekend and those in attendance at Kingston Park were rewarded with a thrilling affair between Newcastle and Harlequins.

The hosts had managed to eke out a 17-14 lead at the break thanks to tries from George McGuigan, Adam Radwan and Nathan Earle. Quins took the lead in the second half, but Newcastle wrestled back control through a second try from McGuigan and one from Logo Mulipola as they looked to get their campaign off to a winning start.

However, there was heartbreak for the Falcons as Alex Dombrandt and Joe Marchant scored late tries to give the London outfit a 40-31 win. Curiously enough, both Cross-Points (first half points multiplied by second half points) and Multi-Points (Newcastle points multiplied by Harlequins points) came out at 40x31.

Buyers on Cross-Points came out four units better off though as they played on a spread of 653-722 rather than 675-726 for Multi-Points as they cashed a win of 518x their stake.

CATALANS DRAGONS v LEEDS RHINOS – LIAM SUTCLIFFE SUPER-MEGA MINUTES (SETTLED AT 298)

Friday night’s clash between Leeds Rhinos and Catalans Dragons in the south of France saw one of the first televised renditions of God Save the King as both sets of players fans and staff paid their respects to Her Majesty.

The 80 minutes that followed was anything but respectful as Leeds came out on top in a battle that saw Michael McIlorum shown a yellow card, Mitchell Pearce shown two and Gil Dudson shown red for a headbutt on Aiden Sezer.

The hosts had taken the lead through two converted penalties, but Leeds hit back on the stroke of half-time as Liam Sutcliffe scored two quickfire tries. With the second of his tries counting double, buyers on a spread of 14-17 were already well in the money before the Hull FC-bound centre scored his hat-trick in the 62nd minute to secure a memorable win for the Rhinos.

That third try added 186 to his Super-Mega Minutes total and buyers on a spread of 14-17 at kick-off were rewarded with a win of 281x their initial stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
