After another weekend of top class sports and a multitude of dramatic action, as always in our daily betting blog we run through the big spread betting winners from the weekend!

Some of the key action came from weekend football including shock defeats in the Premier League for Arsenal and Liverpool, Stefanos Tsitsipas won a third Monte Carlo Masters title in the tennis and Scottie Scheffler won his second Masters crown in the golf.

Here we run through some of those big winning spread bets.

Please remember Spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.

ARSENAL V ASTON VILLA – ARS/ASV TGM SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT -171)

We start with the football betting action and the Premier League where a day of shock results in the title race moved the odds firmly in Man City's favour. While Liverpool fell to a defeat at home against Crystal Palace, Arsenal failed to capitalise at the Emirates and also fell to a loss against Aston Villa.

While the Gunners had the better of the first half, the visitors produced an extremely impressive second period in which they had more possession, more corners, more shots and ultimately more goals as two late strikes in the closing few minutes from Leon Bailey and Ollie Watkins secured a vital win for their hopes of a place in the top four.

For football spread bettors who envisaged an away win for Unai Emery's men, selling on the Arsenal/Aston Villa Total Goal Minutes Supremacy market proved very profitable. With the starting spread at 87 - 101 in Arsenal's favour pre-match, a make-up of -171 resulted in a big winning sell bet of 258x their stake!

CASPER RUUD v STEFANOS TSITSIPAS - TSITSIPAS 2-0 [SET BETTING] (SETTLED AT 100)

Next we move to the tennis action on Sunday and a Monegasque renaissance as Stefanos Tsitsipas claimed a third title on the clay courts of the principality, putting an end to a poor run of form and confidence for the Greek which was threatening to derail his hopes of challenging at the top of the game.

Although many expected that the final would be contested by Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner, it was in fact Tsitsipas and Norway's Casper Ruud who matched up in the showpiece and although a tight contest was expected, Tsitsipas was in imperious form and an off-colour Ruud failed to reach the highs of his win over Djokovic the day earlier.

Tsitsipas breezed through the first set and although the second stanza was far more competitive as Ruud threatened a comeback, a late break from the Greek secured a 6-1 6-4 victory. Spread betting punters who placed a buy bet on the Tsitsipas 2-0 set betting market at an opening spread at 35 - 41 saw a make-up of 100 and a return of 59x their stake.

MASTERS 2024 - SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER OUTRIGHT WINNER (SETTLED AT 80)

And finally, we finish with the golf action as Scottie Scheffler proved why he was installed as the pre-event favourite, securing the Green Jacket for the second time in three years.

Scheffler took a one-shot advantage into the final day and held at least a share of the lead throughout a tense Sunday, where multiple players threatened major victory before all fading away on the back nine to give the world No 1 control of the tournament.

In terms of spread betting, punters who decided to place a buy bet on Scheffler in the Masters Outright Betting market saw good profit made, considering his status as the favourite. With the starting spread at 24 - 27, a final make-up of 80 meant a return of 53x their opening stake!

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
