Weekend's Big Winning Bets

WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?

On St Patrick’s Day weekend, there was Irish joy at Cheltenham with an 18-10 win in the Prestbury Cup as well as success on the rugby pitch with two Grand Slams in the bag as the under-20 side emulated their open-age counterparts.

Away from the Emerald Isle, the prospect of an all-Manchester FA Cup final remains a tantalising option whilst in the cricket, New Zealand secured a series win over Sri Lanka and Australia battered India by ten wickets in their ODI match.

Amongst all the drama from the last few days, we have sifted through the action to find three big winning bets.

Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.

FA CUP QUARTER FINALS GROUP – MULTI-TEAMS (SETTLED AT 270)

The last eight in the FA Cup went head-to-head this weekend for the right to play at Wembley in the semi-finals and three of the four EFL sides bombed out at the weekend, with Sheffield United earning a tie against Manchester City in the last four.

It was a good Sunday for Blades fans and a brilliant weekend for buyers on our FA Cup Multi-Teams market at 37-46. This spread saw the total number of goals scored by each home side (Manchester City, Sheffield United, Brighton, and Manchester United) multiplied together.

With City banging in six, the Blades bagging three including a very late winner, Brighton knocking five past Grimsby and Manchester United scoring three in a remarkable game at Old Trafford, the Multi-Teams spread settled at 270 with buyers winning 224x their stake.

TRIUMPH HURDLE – LOSSIEMOUTH/BLOOD DESTINY MATCH BET (SETTLED AT 15)

Friday saw the final day of the Cheltenham Festival take place and after a Thursday which had generally gone the way of the bookies, two horses stood clear at the head of the betting in the Triumph Hurdle. However, whilst Lossiemouth was punted into 11/8, Blood Destiny eased out to 3/1 from 9/4 and the money would have been wise to follow in the Lossiemouth/Blood Destiny Match Bet.

As the flag came down, the race favourite was 1-2.5 on the Match Bet spread and duly romped home to win the race with Blood Destiny a long way back. In the Match Bet market, the maximum win make-up is 15 lengths and with Blood Destiny trailing back in ninth after a disappointing performance, buyers on the match bet won 12.5x their stake.

SCOTLAND v ITALY – BLAIR KINGHORN SUPER-MEGA MINUTES (SETTLED AT 358)

Scotland were looking to cap off their Six Nations campaign in impressive fashion when they welcomed Italy to Murrayfield and things looked to be going to plan when tries from Duhan van der Merwe and Blair Kinghorn put them 12-6 up at the break.

However, the Italians fought back and had the Scots camped on their own line with the clock in the red, but to the joy of the home fans, Kinghorn was able to race away down the left wing to score his third try of the day and cap off a bonus point win for Gregor Townsend’s side.

With Kinghorn scoring tries in the 30th, 44th and 80th minute it was a cracking afternoon’s viewing for buyers on the Edinburgh winger’s Super-Mega Minutes spread at 14-17. With the spread settling at a whopping 358, buyers landed a win of 341x their stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
