Daily Spread Betting Round-up
After a week dominated by Cheltenham and the Champions League, there was plenty more sporting action for punters to get their teeth into over the weekend as Newcastle ended a 70-year wait for silverware at the expense of Liverpool, Jack Draper became a top-10 tennis player for the first time by claiming the Indian Wells Masters, and Lando Norris got his 2025 F1 season underway in perfect fashion with a victory Down Under.
As always in our daily betting blog we run through the big spread betting winners from the weekend!

LIVERPOOL v NEWCASTLE - MULTI-BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 0)
We start with the football action and although there was plenty of exciting domestic league action throughout the UK and Europe, much of the attention was at Wembley Stadium on Sunday as Liverpool looked to bounce back from their midweek Champions League exit in the EFL Cup final against Newcastle, with the Toon looking to put to bed decades of trophyless hurt.
After a fairly cagey first half, Newcastle managed to force home their supremacy against a flat Liverpool before the break as defender Dan Burn headed in from a corner to fuel the Magpies' dreams. Swedish star striker Alexander Isak then doubled the advantage shortly into the second period - a matter of seconds after having a goal ruled out by VAR - and this ultimately proved to secure the trophy, with a late stoppage-time goal by Liverpool proving to be minor consolation.
In terms of spread betting, selling punters managed to score significant profit on our Multi-Bookings market. The match saw only three cards issued in total, all coming at or after the 90th minute. With the market starting with an opening spread of 465 - 555, a final make-up of 0 saw sellers win a massive 465x their opening stake!

HOLGER RUNE v JACK DRAPER: TOTAL POINTS (SETTLED AT 98)
In the tennis betting action, Britain's Jack Draper completed an incredible week in the desert of Indian Wells, California as he secured his first ATP Masters 1000 trophy and a place in the elite top 10 of the men's rankings as he dominated Denmark's Holger Rune 6-2 6-2 in the final, following up his win against double champion Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-finals.
After several years of climbing up the rankings but being held back by persistent fitness issues and occasional inconsistency, Draper has finally seemed to pull everything together and showed great consistency and durability throughout a week in which he beat Brazilian wonderkid Joao Fonseca, Jenson Brooksby, US Open finalist Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton and Alcaraz before defeating Rune.
With Rune also impressive in his run to the final where he defeated the likes of Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas en route, an exciting and competitive final never materialised as Draper proved to be a different level as he swept to a straight sets victory at the loss of only four games in total.
For tennis spread bettors who envisaged a quick match, deciding to place a sell bet on our Total Points market proved to be a profitable choice. Sellers returned an Ace 55x return on their initial wager from a pre-match spread of 153 - 158 after a settlement of just 98.

2025 AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX: RACE WINNER'S NUMBER (SETTLED AT 4)
Finally, we round off on the F1 action from Down Under as the hotly-anticipated 2025 season got underway in Melbourne. With Lewis Hamilton's move to Ferrari perhaps receiving the biggest spotlight of the paddock, this season will also throw up plenty of potential storylines like a potential fifth world title for Max Verstappen, a possible Mercedes resurgence or a driver's title for McLaren's Lando Norris.
Norris ultimately couldn't overcome Verstappen's early season lead last year but the Brit made a perfect start to his campaign this time around as he drove a masterful race in wet conditions to secure the maximum points ahead of the Dutchman and fellow Brit George Russell of Mercedes. For Hamilton, much work remains as the seven-time champion could only manage tenth place in his maiden outing for Ferrari.
For F1 punters who backed Norris (car number 4) or Verstappen (1) rather Russell (63) or Piastri (81) in our Race Winner's Number market, tidy profit was to be made with a settlement of 4 from a starting spread of 23.7 - 24.7, meaning a return of 19.7x stake on sell bets!
If you like to bet on F1 but want to know more about how F1 spread betting works then we have all the information you need, including our bet calculator with which you can calculate potential spread betting winnings or losses.
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
