Daily Spread Betting Round-up
After another weekend of top-class sports and a multitude of dramatic action, as always in our daily betting blog we run through the big spread betting winners from the weekend!
Some of the key action came from the first weekend of EURO 2024 with hosts Germany, defending champions Italy and favourites England all securing opening victories. Meanwhile, there was heartbreak for Rory McIlroy as the Ulsterman came up just short as Bryson DeChambeau won the US Open in the golf.
Here we run through some of those big winning spread bets.
Please remember Spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.
We start with the football betting action and defending champions Italy were given a scare against the plucky underdogs Albania on Saturday, with the Red and Blacks scoring the fastest goal in Euros history to take a shock lead within the opening minute and threaten the chance of a major shock.
However, that chance was short-lived as the Azzurri swiftly hit back with two quick-fire goals within the opening 16 minutes to snatch the lead, and they never relinquished it as the game seemed to fizzle out, aside from a few half-chances.
For football spread bettors, those backing a fast start from the Albanians with a sell bet on the 1st Albania Goal market proved to be profitable. Settling with the minute of the goal, a make-up of just 1 from a starting spread of 69 - 72 resulted in a big winning sell bet of 68x their stake!

Next, we move to the tennis action and it was pure joy for new British number one Jack Draper as the youngster grabbed his first ATP Title at the BOSS Open grass court event in Stuttgart, Germany. Facing Italy's Matteo Berrettini - a formidable grass court competitor and former Wimbledon finalist - Draper managed to come back from a set deficit and won a crucial second set tie-break before powering home in the deciding set.
In a match between two players who have struggled with injury of late, Berrettini began as favourite on account of his greater experience and pedigree on the surface, but Draper was in fantastic form throughout the week with some monstrous serving. At one point being just two points from defeat, Draper hung tough to secure a huge boost to his confidence ahead of Wimbledon in a couple of weeks.
Spread betting punters who fancied Draper's chances and placed a sell bet on the Berrettini/Draper Match Supremacy market at an opening spread of 2.5 - 5.5 saw a make-up of -15 and a return of 17.5x their stake.

And finally, we finish with the weekend's golf as Bryson DeChambeau capitalised on a late collapse from Rory McIlroy to win the US Open for a second time with a dramatic one-shot victory at Pinehurst No 2.
Despite DeChambeau looking in control almost throughout, McIlroy stormed back to take the lead and remained one ahead until he followed back-to-back bogeys from the 15th with another at the par-four last, missing two putts from inside four feet over that closing stretch, as DeChambeau produced when it mattered most to secure his second major title.
In terms of spread betting, punters who decided to place a buy bet on the DeChambeau Performance market made good profit. With the starting spread at 97 - 102, a final make-up of 200 meant a return of 98x their opening stake!

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
