Daily Spread Betting Round-up

Weekend's Big Winning Bets

lph-newcastle

It was another weekend of unusual results in the Premier League as Chelsea were smashed 3-0 by Leeds United and Manchester City faltered on the road to draw 3-3 with Newcastle United. North of the border, there was also a surprise result as Rangers dropped points on their travels to Hibernian.

Those hoping to see a good day’s play at Lord’s on Saturday would have been disappointed by England’s capitulation on Friday, but cricket fans would have been able to console themselves with Manchester Original’s record score of 205 in the Hundred as they beat Northern Superchargers.

Finally, on the turf, Silvestre De Sousa landed a win with his last ride on these shores at Yarmouth yesterday before he heads to Hong Kong, and on Saturday it was a tale of redemption as Frankie Dettori guided home Trawlerman to win the Ebor for the Gosden team.

With plenty of top sporting action, we pick out three big winning spread bets from the weekend’s matches.

Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.

NEWCASTLE UNITED v MANCHESTER CITY – GOALS x CORNERS x BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 3600)

Having made a perfect start to the season, Manchester City would have been in fine spirits as they headed to the north east for this clash with Newcastle United.

The Geordies came into the game with Nick Pope to thank for a point in their last outing yet having been unbeaten against Brighton, his goal was breached after just five minutes against last year’s champions as Ilkay Gundogan opened the scoring.

From there, things took an unusual turn as Eddie Howe’s side pulled themselves into a 3-1 lead with Miguel Almiron levelling the score (a penny for the thoughts of Jack Grealish) before Callum Wilson and Kieran Tripper hammered home the advantage.

City though, are never out of it if there is still time left on the clock as Erling Haaland halved the deficit just after the hour mark, with Bernardo Silva squaring the game up at 3-3 just three minutes later. The last half hour or so was dominated by the visitors, but they couldn’t find the killer touch despite Haaland having a couple of good chances to win the game.

It was a thriller for neutrals and a thriller for buyers on the Goals x Corners x Bookings market as they were rewarded with six goals, 10 corners, and 60 booking points to settle the market at 3600. At kick-off the spread was 975-1125 as buyers won 2475x their stake.

SYDNEY ROOSTERS v WESTS TIGERS – MATCH MULTI-POINTS (SETTLED AT 1440)

This has been a season to forget for Wests Tigers and they were walloped 72-6 by the Roosters on Saturday morning at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

In a season of poor performances though, this one was perhaps one of the most damming as the final scoreline represented a record defeat for Wests as they ended the match with 12 men on the pitch after James Tamou was sent off for dissent with a minute left on the clock.

The Roosters second row pairing of Nat Butcher and Angus Crichton scored six tries between them, with Butcher’s Super-Mega Minutes settling at a whopping 307 having been 16-19 at kick-off. The Roosters were 30-0 up at the break and with 48 second half points scored, Match Multi-Points was always going to be a good result for buyers.

At kick-off, the spread was 637-686 as buyers got Saturday off to the perfect start with a win of 784x their stake.

HIBERNIAN v RANGERS – SHIRTS x BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 13420)

We have saved the biggest spread win until last and whilst Rangers have bigger fish to fry on the continent, they took their eyes off the domestic prize on Saturday as Hibs took full advantage.

The first-half was a fairly low key affair with a James Tavernier (shirt number 2) penalty the only goal and indeed Rangers’ only shot on target during the opening 45.

Martin Boyle’s (77) finish from close range pulled the hosts back level but they conceded just seven minutes later as Tom Lawrence (11) scored an excellent header from a wicked Borna Barisic cross.

The game then started to go a bit crazy as John Lundstram was shown a straight red for a challenge not unlike Kieran Trippier’s and Alfredo Morelos was following him down the tunnel nine minutes later after the striker saw red for a swinging arm.

With Rangers defending gamely, Hibs needed a hero and up stepped Josh Campbell (32) in the 92nd minute to slam home a half volley in the top corner.

It was another great result for buyers as the Bookings (110 points for two red cards and six yellows) x Shirts (122) market settled at a mammoth 13420. At kick-off, the market was 2300-2550 and buyers were left counting their cash as they collected a win equal to 10870x their stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
