After another weekend of top class sports, as always in our daily betting blog we run through the big spread betting winners from the weekend!

Some of the key action came from a hugely exciting set of weekend football from around the globe including the Premier League and Africa Cup of Nations, Novak Djokovic ploughed through in seemingly unstoppable fashion in the Australian Open and Ronnie O'Sullivan grabbed yet another snooker title.

Here we run through some of those big winning spread bets.

Please remember Spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.

ARSENAL V CRYSTAL PALACE – TOTAL GOAL MINUTES SUPREMACY ARS/C.P (SETTLED AT 287)

We start with the football betting action and the Saturday early kick-off featured Arsenal hosting Crystal Palace with the Gunners aiming to breathe life into their title challenge after a rocky patch in which scoring goals seemed to be the main problem. It seemed to be a complete turnaround here though, as the Gunners were firing on all cylinders against their London rivals.

The opening goal came early and from an unlikely source as centre-back Gabriel gave his side the lead, and the hosts went into the break 2-0 up and cruising after an own goal from Dean Henderson. The second half followed a similar pattern but there was a late burst of drama as winger Gabriel Martinelli scored two almost-identical goals right at the death to secure a 5-0 victory.

For football spread bettors, placing a buy bet on the Arsenal/Crystal Palace Total Goal Minutes Supremacy market proved a profitable choice. With the starting spread at 76 - 90, those two late goals meant a make-up of 287 and a big winning buy bet of 197x their stake!

AUSTRALIAN OPEN TENNIS: DJOKOVIC V MANNARINO - X-COURTS (SETTLED AT 18)

Next we move to the tennis action with the Australian Open where the undisputed king of Melbourne Park Novak Djokovic continued his seemingly relentless quest for more Australian glory in what was also a hugely disappointing showing from his French opponent Adrian Mannarino.

Although the Serb was heavily favoured to progress without much trouble, some tipped the highly unorthodox Mannarino to cause him some problems, and the Frenchman's confidence seemed to be at a high after his impressive five-set win over American talent Ben Shelton in the previous round.

Ultimately though, after winning three consecutive five-setters to reach this stage, fatigue may well have caught up with the Frenchman. Despite having two break points in the opening game, Mannarino dramatically fell away and almost fell victim to the dreaded 'triple bagel', ultimately losing 6-0 6-0 6-3.

Spread betting punters who placed a sell bet on the X-Courts spread at 68 - 76 saw a low make-up of just 18 and a return of 50x their stake.

JUDD TRUMP V RONNIE O'SULLIVAN - HIGHEST MATCH BREAK (SETTLED AT 74)

And finally, we finish with the Spreadex World Grand Prix action as Ronnie O'Sullivan continued his dominaton of the sport by defeating Judd Trump by a margin of 10 frames to 7. Interestingly, this was the same score-line as his win in the Masters just a week prior and was a similar story of starting slowly before roaring back.

Trump led 4-0 in frames after a fast start but it ultimately wasn't enough to hold back 'The Rocket'. However, the match was not the highest of quality from the top two players in the rankings - in terms of break-building at least. Despite both of these players being arguably the best high-scorers in the sport, the highest break of the 17 frames played was only 74.

For those that had the foresight of a cagey affair and opted to sell on the pre-match Highest Match Break spread of 127 - 130, they were rewarded with a 53x return on their opening wager.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
