Daily Spread Betting Round-up

Weekend's Big Winning Bets

thumbnail-weekend-240624

After another weekend of dramatic sporting action, as always in our daily betting blog we run through the big spread betting winners from the weekend!

Some of the key action came from the latest group matches at EURO 2024 as the race for the knockout stages hots up, Tommy Paul and Jannik Sinner claimed maiden grass-court titles in the tennis, England secured a dominant win over USA in the T20 World Cup.

Here we run through some of those big winning spread bets.

Please remember Spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.

EURO 2024: BELGIUM v ROMANIA – KEVIN DE BRUYNE PERFORMANCE (SETTLED AT 42.8)

We start with the football betting action from Euro 2024 and Belgium bounced back from their shock defeat to Slovakia in the opening match to secure a crucial victory over group leaders Romania, which now leaves the entire group in an intriguing position going into the third and final matchday.

In fact, this will be the first time in Euros history where all four teams in a group are tied on three points heading into the third round of fixtures. Permutations vary for each team, but Belgium know that a win against Ukraine will likely guarantee them passage through from first place.

Against Romania, the Red Devils were assured and controlled throughout to secure a 2-0 win, and talismanic midfielder Kevin de Bruyne was instrumental in that, chipping in with the second goal. For football spread bettors, those deciding to place a buy bet on the KDB Performance market proved to be profitable. Settling at 42.8 from a starting spread of 23 - 26, buyers returned 16.8x their initial wager.

JANNIK SINNER v HUBERT HURKACZ - X-COURTS (SETTLED AT 84)

Next we move to the tennis action and world number one Jannik Sinner proved why he is the best player in the world as he secured his first grass-court title in Halle in what was a perfect warm-up for his upcoming tilt at Wimbledon, overcoming the challenge of massive server Hubert Hurkacz in two tie-breaks, 7-6 7-6.

Poland's Hurkacz is a former Halle winner and was in formidable form this week, not dropping a set until the final, beating players like Alexander Zverev on the way. Italy's Sinner had a far more challenging week, dropping sets against players like Fabian Marozsan and Tallon Griekspoor. However, the Australian Open champion ultimately had too much variety and brought his A-game against Hurkacz to dominate the deciding moments in the final.

Spread betting punters who anticipated a tightly-contested match and placed a buy bet on the X-Courts market at an opening spread of 58 - 63 saw a make-up of 84 and a return of 21x their stake. Ace!

T20 WORLD CUP - ENGLAND/USA SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT 100)

And finally, we finish with the weekend's cricket action as England continued their quest to defend their T20 World Cup crown as they secured a dominant and impressive 10-wicket victory over tournament co-hosts USA.

Jos Buttler was one of (if not the) heroes of the day as he hit an outstanding unbeaten 82 off 38 balls to catapult his team into the penultimate stage of the T20 World Cup, and take the lead in the Group 2 table. England's bowlers also deserve an honourable mention as they created the momentum and platform for a rapid victory by bowling USA out for 115 on a dry pitch in Barbados.

In terms of spread betting, punters who decided to place a buy bet on the England/USA Supremacy market made good profit. With the starting spread at 52 - 60, a final make-up of 100 meant a return of 40x their opening stake! With the fixed odds having England as extremely short odds favourites for an outright win here, a comparatively huge win when spread betting illustrates the potential of big winning bets when spread betting as opposed to fixed odds. However, remember that as always, spread betting losses can exceed deposit.

For those of you who need a tune up on our cricket spread betting markets ahead of the final stages of the T20 World Cup, we have a handy guide for punters.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
