Another thrilling weekend of sport has been and gone and as ever on a Monday we run through the big winning bets where our shrewd spread betting punters took our trading team to the cleaners.

Please remember Spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.

ARSENAL v LEICESTER CITY – ARSENAL CORNERS SQUARED (SETTLED AT 289)

Arsenal faced Leicester City at the weekend and they nearly came unstuck against the struggling Foxes, with two stoppage-time goals getting the Gunners out of jail.

The hosts had taken a two goal lead before a James Justin brace in the second half pulled Leicester level. In truth though, Arsenal were in the ascendancy and laying siege to the Leicester net with Danish keeper Mads Hermansen in fine form for the visitors.

Eventually Mikel Arteta’s side got their breakthrough following one of their 17 corners in the match with a Leandro Trossard strike deflecting in off Wilfred Ndidi, before Kai Havertz put the gloss on the performance to make it 4-2.

Arsenal’s huge corner count was great news for those who placed a buy bet on the Arsenal Corners Squared spread which was 69-78 before kick-off. With the market settling at 289, those buyers won 211x their stake.

BRENTFORD v WEST HAM – 1ST BRENTFORD GOAL (SETTLED AT 1)

Brentford had scored in the 22nd and 23rd second of their previous two matches and Thomas Frank’s quick starters were at it again on Saturday as Bryan Mbuemo volleyed home to put the Bees one up after 37 seconds.

West Ham, having been caught cold, eventually scrambled a 1-1 draw, but the pressure is mounting on Julen Lopetegui.

For those canny punters who placed a sell bet on the time of the first Brentford Goal, there was a very satisfying maximum win as the spread settled at 1. Having been 45-48 before kick-off, that left sellers collecting a win of 47x their stake.

YORKSHIRE v NORTHANTS – YOR/NOR 1ST INNINGS SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT 579)

Yorkshire clinched promotion back to the first division in the County Championship at the weekend after a drawn match at Headingley was enough to squeeze Middlesex down into third place.

Having bowled out their opposition Northants for 147 all-out, the Yorkshire batsmen began making hay as they racked up a huge score of 726-7 before declaring. James Wharton hit a stunning 285 from 319 balls whilst opener Adam Lyth helped himself to 247 runs at a strike rate of 90.18. There were half centuries for Johnny Bairstow, George Hill, and Jordan Thompson as the Tykes made their visitors toil.

For those cricket spread betting punters who predicted a Yorkshire onslaught there was plenty of money to be made on our 1st Innings Supremacy spread. Already tilted 75-95 in the hosts’ favour, the spread settled at 579 as buyers landed a nice touch of 484x their stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
