Weekend's Big Winning Bets 31.03.25

landing-page-weekend-310325

There was plenty of action over the weekend for online betting punters to enjoy with the FA Cup taking centre stage, Manchester City’s comeback win on the road at Bournemouth has seen them shorten to even money favourites in our FA Cup outright odds.

Away from the fixed odds betting, there were plenty of big winning bets over the weekend, and we have selected three from some of the more high profile events below.

Please remember Spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.

HOUSTON OPEN – SAMI VALIMAKI FINISHING POSITION (NO MAX) (SETTLED AT 4)

Finnish golfer Sami Valimaki put together a superb final two days to finish 17-under in fourth place at the Houston Open. Twice a winner on the DP World Tour, Valimaki tied the course record alongside Gary Woodland having carded a score of 62 to finish in a career-best position on the PGA Tour.

With Valimaki in fourth, the event was won by Min Woo Lee, who held off Scottie Scheffler to secure his first win on the PGA Tour.

Back to the Finn though and it was a good weekend for golf spread betting punters who sided with the man from Nokia. In the Finishing Position (no max) spread, Valimaki was available to trade at 85-89 before play, but a fourth-place finish ensured he rewarded sellers with a win of 81x their stake.

Also, a shout out to the fixed odds punters who backed him. With Valimaki going as big as 750/1 before play, there was some healthy each way profit bagged.

BRIGHTON v NOTTINGHAM FOREST – SHIRTS x BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 0)

Brighton’s match with Nottingham Forest saved all of the drama until the very end as homegrown hero Ryan Yates sent Forest through to their first FA Cup semi-final since the early 90s.

The central midfielder slotted the shoot-out winner after 120 minutes of goalless action on the south coast. Games that end 0-0 naturally reward sellers on our football spread betting markets and the same was true on Saturday with some big wins collected.

One of the biggest came on the Shirts x Bookings spread (as with all spreads this is a 90 minute market unless stated) which was available to buy or sell at 2000-2250 before kick-off. There were only 20 booking points in the match anyway, but with no goals scored and therefore no shirt numbers, the spread settled at zero.

This left sellers on the spread collecting a big win of 2000x their stake.

HUDDERSFIELD GIANST v HULL KINGSTON ROVERS – MIKEY LEWIS SUPER MEGA-MINUTES (SETTLED AT 379)

The Super-Mega Minutes spread across both codes of rugby is a spread based on the minutes a player scores a try in. The first try scored by the designated player counts as the minute shown on the clock. If they go on to score a second try, the time is doubled and a third try sees the time trebled.

The aim, therefore, is to try and find a hat-trick man and Hull KR schemer Mikey Lewis was the hero on the weekend as the Robins ran riot at the John Smith’s Stadium. The Humberside outfit ran in nine tries as they extended their winning start to the season to six matches.

Before kick-off in West Yorkshire, the Mikey Lewis SMM spread was 49-55, but having notched a hat-trick, it settled at 379 as buyers won 324x their stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
