Daily Spread Betting Round-up
Supporters of England and Wales in both football and rugby would have been disappointed with how the weekend panned out, but amidst the doom and gloom, there were some winners to be found on our spread betting markets.
Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.
ENGLAND v USA – SHIRTS x BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 0)
It feels like a long time ago already, but England extended their winless run over the USA at World Cup finals on Friday with a tepid 0-0 draw. Despite copping plenty of flak in the media, it was a result that all but secures England’s passage through to the round of 16 but there is no doubt fans would have been hoping for a performance laced with a little bit more attacking intent and quality.
There wouldn’t have been many Three Lions fans coming away from the game satisfied, but those who sold Shirts x Bookings at 1400-1550 would have been dancing with delight. Not only were there no goals, but there were also no bookings handed out so this market fell at both hurdles as sellers won a maximum of 1400x their stake.
WALES v AUSTRALIA – TOTAL POINTS (SETTLED AT 73)
Wales’s disappointing autumn campaign drew to a close on Saturday as they blew a 34-13 lead to lose 39-34 to Australia in Cardiff.
Tries from Taulupe Faletau, Rio Dyer and a Jac Morgan brace had helped Wales race out in front, but yellow cards for Justin Tipuric and Ryan Elias left the door ajar for Australia and they smashed it down in fine style.
Replacement hooker Lachlan Lonergan was the Aussie hero as he crossed for the winning score late on in a result that leaves Wales coach Wayne Pivac under the pump. It was a thrilling game of rugby for the neutral though and with the Total Points spread at 47-50 before kick-off, buyers landed a win of 23x their stake.
ROB CROSS v MICHAEL VAN GERWEN – HIGHEST MATCH CHECKOUT (SETTLED AT 170)
There were some thrilling tungsten tussles over the weekend as the Players Championship Finals wowed the crowds at Minehead and the final was a fitting end to the action.
Rob Cross faced off with Michael van Gerwen and the Dutch superstar reached deep into his bag of tricks to pull out a nine-dart finish, with his 144 checkout ensuring buyers on the Highest Match Checkout spread at 129.50-132.50 were in profit after just three legs.
The Dutch sensation wasn’t done there however as he pulled out a sublime 170 checkout when Cross was building up a head of steam ensuring that buyers won a maximum of 37.5x their stake.
It was also good news for buyers on the Highest Checkout x Total 180s which settled at 3230 against a pre-match spread of 1364-1444.
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
