What were the top winning bets from Wednesday's Football, Darts, IPL & Racing?

Did Italy keep their unbeaten record and make the final of the Nations League?

Spain pulled off a shock by becoming the first team in over three years to beat Italy and, in doing so, take their place in the final of the Nations League. After 37 matches unbeaten, including winning Euro 2020, where they defeated Spain on penalties in the semi-final, Italy were hot favourites to make the final of the Nations League in front of their own fans. But two goals from Manchester City’s Ferran Torres gave Spain a deserved victory, despite Lorenzo Pellegrini’s late consolation at the San Siro.

Multi-Bookings (settled at 1800)

Buyers in any of the Bookings markets made plenty of profit from this bad-tempered affair, Italy refusing to down without a fight, literally on occasion. Leonardo Bonucci was sent off for two yellow cards in the first half, and was joined in the book by teammate Manuel Locatelli, while Spain had four players booked themselves. Multi-Bookings multiplies all the first-half bookings points (25 for a red, 10 for a yellow) by second half, and yesterday’s game started with the Multi-Bookings spread at 310-390. Buyers at 390 therefore made 1410 times their bet. Cross-Bookings (multiplying one team’s booking points by the other) also settled at 1800, winning buyers 1350 times their bet, while buyers of Bookings (set at 38-42) made 43 times their wager.

Ferran Torres Super Mega Minutes (settled at 107)

The Manchester City man took his tally for Spain to 12 goals in 21 games and is surely on the brink of just becoming Spain’s centre forward rather than a midfielder playing as a false 9. Mikel Oyarzabel provided both assists and Torres was clinical with the finishing. Torres’s Player Goal Minutes were set at 9-12, and his Super Mega Minutes, which doubles the minutes of any second goal and trebles any third was set at 13-17. Torres scored in the 17th and 45th minutes, meaning Player Goal Minutes buyers won 50 times their stake, and SMM buyers 90 times.

Who won yesterday’s IPL game between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad?

With RCB definitely going to the play-offs and Sunrisers guaranteed to finish bottom, there could only be one result here right? Apparently not, as Jason Roy’s 44 helped Sunrisers set 141-7, a target RCB couldn’t quite manage, coming up 4 runs short.

Supremacy Hyderabad/Bangalore (settled at 4)

This market predicts which team will win and by what margin, one point per run, or 10 points per wicket, and can have a negative make-up if the favourite does not win. Bangalore were big favourites to push for a top 2 finish and see off basement boys Hyderabad and before the game the Supremacy was set at Bangalore/Hyderabad 25-33. Sunrisers have played better of late, especially since Roy came into the side and David Warner was dropped. Sellers at 25 made 29 times their bet as Hyderabad held on to claim the win.

What happened in yesterday’s racing at Nottingham?

David Egan had a quick-fire double at Nottingham races yesterday afternoon, finishing the day with two wins from his four runs. While his other two runners didn’t manage to get in the picture, Egan won both the 15.40 on 14/1 shot Rogue Bear and the 16.15 on 2/1 favourite Typewriter.

Jockey Performance David Egan (settled at 50)

The market awards 25 points for a win, 10 for 2nd and 5 for 3rd. Egan finished just outside the points on his first ride of the day at Nottingham, 13/2 shot Hesperis finishing 4th in the 2nd race of the day. In the 6th race Finoah ran like a 28/1 shot, finishing 10th, but those two wins in races 4 and 5 of the afternoon ensured Egan’s Jockey Performance market was settled at 50. Buyers therefore made a tidy profit of 29 times their stake, given the spread before the first race was off was set at 19-21

Who made the quarter-finals of the World Grand Prix darts?

The last of the seeds in the bottom half of the draw departed as Jonny Clayton despatched number 7 seed Jose de Sousa 3-1. He now plays Krzysztof Ratajski, who beat former world champion Rob Cross by the same score. Danny Noppert lost the first two legs against Vincent van der Voort but then only dropped three more as he rebounded to take a 3-0 victory. Noppert takes in Ian White in the last eight after he came from two sets down to seal a thrilling 3-2 win over Darius Labanauskas.

Rob Cross  v Krzysztof Ratajski Multi-180s (settled at 15)

There may not be as many household names in the bottom half of the draw, but the quality of darts was right up there. Rob Cross, along with Vincent van der Voort, had the most maximums on the night with 5, jointly winning the Most 180s special bet. This awarded 25 points for the player with the most maximums on the night, with 10 for 2nd and 5 for 3rd, and Cross (9.5-11.5) and Van der Voort (2.75-4.25) both settled at 17.5, winning Cross buyers six times their stake and buyers of Van der Voort 13.25 times. In the Multi-180s market in Cross’s game, his five and Ratajski’s three gave a make-up of 15, making a 3.5 times the bet profit for buyers.
