2024/25 Championship Betting Preview Week 22

landing-page-cship-blog

Christmas is very nearly upon us, but before the players can tuck into their turkey, there is a full slate of fixtures to be played out in the Championship and with five of our partners in the top nine, it could be a vital weekend. We have previewed all of the action in today’s betting blog, starting with the early kick-off at Hillsborough.

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY v STOKE CITY SATURDAY 12:30PM

Rumours continue to swirl in the press that Sheffield Wednesday manage may take the vacant hotseat at Southampton, but for now he very much remains in charge of our partners Sheffield Wednesday and he is doing a fine job in charge of the South Yorkshire outfit.

Wednesday sit ninth in the table and they are 19/20 to desal with a Stoke outfit who have seen an alarming drop in form, with the Potters sat 17th in the league. An away win tomorrow for Narcis Pelach’s side is 14/5 whilst the draw is 12/5.

BURNLEY v WATFORD, SATURDAY 3PM

Burnley are 4/6 favourites for tomorrow’s clash with partner club Watford and the Clarets will be looking to get back into the top two.

Having conceded just eight goals in 21 league games this season, there will be plenty of Burnley fans taking the 13/8 on them to win to nil, while in our football spread betting markets, you can buy or sell Watford Total Goals at 0.75-0.95.

MILLWALL v BLACKBURN ROVERS, SATURDAY 3PM

The first of our all-partner affairs tomorrow sees Blackburn make the trip to Millwall with John Eustace’s side in fine form. Rovers have seven league wins on the spin, yet they are 21/10 to triumph this weekend whilst like their Lancashire rivals, the win to nil market at 4/1 will make some appeal.

As for Millwall, they ended Neil Harris’ reign with a 1-0 home defeat against Sheffield United and David Livermore will be in the dugout as caretaker manager for the first time having made 310 appearances for the Lions over a seven-year spell.

A first win for the temporary gaffer and a first win in seven Millwall matches is priced up at 13/10 with the draw at 21/10. Once again goals will be of interest in this match with Millwall’s last 13 matches seeing two or fewer goals scored. You can buy or sell Total Goal Minutes at 109-119 in the capital.

QUEEN’S PARK RANGERS v PRESTON NORTH END, SATURDAY 3PM

Preston travel to QPR on a five-game unbeaten streak, although four of those matches have ended all square with the Deepdale outfit drawing 11 of their 21 league matches.

Also on their own five game unbeaten run are QPR who have lifted themselves out of the relegation zone and they, alongside Preston are amongst three league sides to have hit double figures for league draws so far this term.

With just one point separating the two sides and their respective records, the draw may well be the favoured option for football betting punters in this one at 2/1.

SUNDERLAND v NORWICH CITY, SATURDAY 3PM

Our second all-partner clash sees Norwich City make the long trip north to face Sunderland with the hosts one point off an automatic promotion spot. Regis Le Bris’ side have won two of their last three matches and they are 5/6 to clip the Canaries’ wings this weekend with Frenchman Wilson Isidor boosted from 31/20 to 9/5 to score for the Mackems.

There have been 68 goals scored in Norwich’s 21 league games this season and you can buy or sell Goals Cubed at 41-48 Total Goals set at 2.6-2.8.

WEST BROMWICH ALBION v BRISTOL CITY, SUNDAY 3PM

West Bromwich Albion and Bristol City have drawn the short straw for the dreaded Sunday 3pm slot this weekend, but if the Baggies secured what would only be a second win in 12 matches, their fans would no doubt be delighted.

Sunday’s hosts are 21/20 to reignite their promotion push, with Liam Manning’s Robins 5/2 to win while the draw is available to back at 23/10.

With ten league goals this season, Josh Maja has hit just over 40% of West Brom’s total tally and the Lewisham-born marksman is 7/5 from 6/5 to add to his haul on Sunday.
