Sports Spread Betting Blog 11/05/15: Arsenal v Swansea and Swindon v Sheffield United betting preview

The Gunners have taken 28 points from a possible 30 in their last 10 games while the Swans have collected 19 from 30, leaving only Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Leicester City as better performers than the Swansea over this period.

Gary Monk’s side still have a very outside chance of making the Europa League spots for next season (80/1 with Spreadex for a top six finish) sitting just five points behind Tottenham in sixth with tonight’s match being their game in hand on the Lillywhites.

Despite this, the Spreadex traders have given Arsenal a fairly strong advantage with a spread betting Goal Supremacy quote of Arsenal/Swansea 1.7 – 1.9 while the Gunners are 1/4 for the victory on the fixed odds, Swansea 10/1 and the draw 9/2.

While the quality on display promises to be high, Spreadex clients also appear to be expecting goals and we’ve seen buyers on a Total Goals spread of 3.05 – 3.25 as well as on a Match Performance quote of 98 – 103 (based on 15 points awarded per goal, three per corner, five per yellow card, 15 per red card, 10 per penalty awarded and minus 25 for a goalless draw).

Fifteen different players have found the net for Arsenal so far this term, but only two are in double figures; Oliver Giroud and Alexis Sanchez.

These two lead the way in both the spread betting and fixed odds betting prices with Giroud 7/2 to score first and Sanchez an industry-best price 17/4 while the Player Goal Minute quotes are 29 – 32 for Giroud and 27 – 30 for Sanchez (spread based on the aggregate total of any minutes goals are scored by named player).

For our popular Super Mega Player Goal Minutes market (minutes doubled for any second goal scored by a player in a game and trebled for any third goal) the quotes are 50 – 58 for Giroud and 42 – 49 for Sanchez.

As well as aiming to finish above Manchester City in second in the table, Arsenal are also of course gunning for the FA Cup; they face Aston Villa at Wembley in the final on Saturday May 30th.

Our spread betting Trophy Trail market awards any team 25 points for winning the FA Cup and Arsenal’s quote is 17 – 20.

Elsewhere it’s the second leg of the remaining League One semi-final as Swindon and Sheffield United battle it out to meet Preston in the final at Wembley on Sunday 24th May.

Swindon won the first leg 2-1 away from home and so are fancied to progress, with a spread of 13 – 14 on our spread betting League One Play-off Index (based on 25 points to eventual play-off winners and 10 to runners-up) with Sheffield United on 3 – 4.

The match between the sides at The County Ground earlier in the season ended 5-2 to the Robins which perhaps explains why we’ve seen plenty of buyers of Total Goals on a spread of 2.4 – 2.6 and of Total Goal Minutes on a spread of 123 – 133.

Spreadex clients have also been getting stuck into Headed Goal Minutes on a spread of 20 – 23 (aggregate minutes of all headed goals in the game) and Goals x Corners on a spread of 25 – 28.

Should the Blades be able to raise their game and take inspiration from their cup heroics earlier in the season when they beat the likes of West Ham, Southampton and QPR then it could be worth looking at Spreadex’s Extra Time Markets.

These are markets which offer make-ups on Total Goals, Shirt Numbers, Bookings, Corners etc. for extra time only.

So they will all make up at 0 if no extra time is played but potentially offer the chance to speculate on low buying prices if you think the match will go into an extra 30 minutes.

Some of our Extra Time Market quotes are Bookings 0 – 2, Shirts 0 – 1.5 and Corners 0 – 2.
