Transfer activity is hotting up ahead of the start of the new Premier League season – but who will be the players banging in the goals once the action starts? The table below shows Spreadex’s predicted Player Season Goals for the top 20 hotshots, although more than 80 players have been priced up in total. Leading the way is last season’s Golden Boot winner England and Spurs frontman Harry Kane with a predicted return of between 22 and 23.5 goals next term. The 23-year-old found the net 29 times during the 2016-17 campaign but with Spurs moving to Wembley this season, the Spreadex traders think he may struggle to match his exploits from last time out. Next up is £75m man Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian scored 25 goals in the league for Everton last season but with potential squad rotation more of an issue at Old Trafford, he has been given a predicted tally of 18.5 – 20 for the new season. Two Arsenal men make up the third and fourth highest predicted scorers in former Lyon dangerman Alexandre Lacazette and Chilean dynamo Alexis Sanchez. Lacazette is predicted to score between 17.5 – 19 goals for his new team while Sanchez’s spread is 17 – 18.5, down from his 24 goal return last term but largely due to Lacazette being expected to playing in the more advanced role that Sanchez occupied for much of last season. Man City pair Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus are up next. Aguero is predicted to grab between 15 and 16.5 goals this term, a lower figure than his 20 goals from the 2016-17 season. However, with Jesus playing his first full season for City and now injury free, his spread of 12.5 – 14 is much higher than his seven goal return last time out with the Spreadex traders expecting him to take away some of the burden from Aguero. Liverpool, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Leicester, Everton, Swansea and Watford are all represented with players further down the top 20 list. That leaves fans of Southampton, West Brom, West Ham, Stoke, Burnley, Newcastle, Brighton and Huddersfield perhaps worrying slightly about where the goals will come from for their side come August. The highest rated scorers for each of these teams are Manolo Gabbiadini (7.5 – 8.5), Salomon Rondon (6 – 7), Andre Ayew (5 – 6), Xherdan Shaqiri (4 – 4.75), Andre Gray (6.5 – 7.5), Dwight Gayle (7.5 – 8.5), Glenn Murray (7.5 – 8.5) and Tom Ince (5.5 – 6.5) respectively.
