One of the few leagues still operating, the Belarusian Premier League enters its 2nd weekend on Friday, and we are live streaming every fixture on Spreadex.com. Below we break down some of the more intriguing match-ups. Rukh Brest v Energetik-BGU MinskThe (very) early league leaders, Energetik travel to Rukh Brest at 5pm on Friday night. Energetik, who finished in 12th place in 2019, just 3 points above the relegation play-offs, scored the biggest upset of the opening weekend, beating last season’s runners-up, 15-time champions and regular European also-rans BATE Borisov 3-1. Djasur Yakhshibaev was the star of that fixture, scoring a 1st half brace, and will be looking to run roughshod over Rukh Brest on Friday. Brest, meanwhile, are in the midst of their top flight debut, having finish in 3rd in their inaugural First League season last year. They got off to a great start on the 20th March, beating Dinamo Minsk 1-0 in their first ever Premier League match. This is a hard one to call, with Spreadex offering a very narrow Energetik/Rukh Brest (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0-0.2, alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.8-3. Slutsk v Dinamo Brest2019 saw Dinamo Brest pull off something remarkable. After 13 consecutive seasons of BATE Borisov as champs, Sergey Kovalchuk’s side won the Premier League for the first time in their history. That didn’t, however, look too strong in their 2020 opener, managing a 1-1 draw at home to Smolevichi-STI having gone behind in the 2nd half. They travel to Slutsk at 10am on Saturday morning. Slutsk, who were only founded in 1998, finished in 11th place in 2019, but are currently in 2nd after winning at home to Slavia Mozyr in a game that saw 3 penalties, a brace for Artyom Serdyuk and a red card for the visitors. Keen to pick up their 1st win of the season, the title holders head into Saturday at a Dinamo/Brest/Slutsk Goal Supremacy spread of 1.15-1.35. Slavia Mozyr v BATE BorisovWith their title streak broken last season, BATE Borisov got off to a bad start in 2020, losing 3-1 to Energetik as mentioned. They will be hoping to course-correct when they travel to Slavia Mozyr at 12pm on Saturday. As mentioned, Slavia lost to Slutsk last weekend, with Igor Tymonyuk sent off in the 70th minute. They had taken the lead against their hosts, however, so they shouldn’t completely be counted out. Nevertheless, the visitors are the heavy favourites, at a BATE Borisov/Slavia Mozyr (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 1.2-1.4, with a Total Goals spread of 2.6-2.8. Spreadex are also offering weekend-long spreads, including an Aways/Homes Supremacy spread of 3.1-3.8, a Total Goals spread of 20.4-21.1 and a Total Goal Minutes spread of 1044-1079.
