Since a disastrous start to life under Brendan Rodgers with a humiliating 1-0 loss in Gibraltar to part-timers Lincoln Red Imps, Celtic have certainly stepped up a gear.


Six wins and a draw have followed in all competitions since then with the Bhoys scoring 22 times in those matches and the Scottish Champions look all set to secure a place in the Champions League group stages for the first time in three years.

Five of their 22 goals came in the first leg of the Champions League play-off against Hapoel Beer-Sheva last week in a 5-2 win that leaves Celtic as short as 1/25 to qualify.

As for the betting on the game itself, the hosts are actually slight favourites at 5/4 on the fixed odds with the draw 12/5 and Celtic 2/1.

In spread betting terms Hapoel Beer-Sheva are given a Goal Supremacy of 0.15 – 0.35 over the visitors while Total Goals are priced at 2.8 – 3, meaning buyers would need at least four goals to go in in total in the match to start making money.

The Israeli hosts beat Olympiakos 1-0 on aggregate over two legs in the previous round to set up the tie with Celtic and also secured a 0-0 away draw against FC Sheriff in the away leg of the first qualifying round, suggesting last week’s seven-goal affair was perhaps something of an anomaly.

However, Spreadex clients appear to be reading more into what happened in last Wednesday’s clash at Celtic Park and are perhaps feeling that the game could open up with Hapoel Beer-Sheva needing to chase the game.

Therefore we’ve seen plenty of buying action on Total Goals, Total Goal Minutes, Headed Goal Minutes and Match Performance in anticipation of goals at the Vasermil Stadium tonight, but with Celtic still expected to safely make it through.
