This is surely Belgium’s for the taking. Though Group B contains 2 host nations, meaning the FIFA World No. 1s will meet Russia in St Petersburg and Denmark in Copenhagen, the Belgians have to feel confident in securing the top spot. After all, Spreadex has them at a Group B Index spread of 16.5-18, and odds on at 8/11 to win the group. Not only that, they’re at 6/1 to win the whole thing, behind only France and, crosses fingers, England. Roberto Martinez might be feeling slightly less confident, however, given uncertainties over Kevin de Bruyne’s ability to play in at least the early fixtures due to the facial injury suffered in the Champions League final. Up front, Martinez will be expecting his former Everton charge Romelu Lukaku to bring his Serie A-winning form into the competition, complimented by a few familiar Premier League faces in Brighton’s Leandro Trossard, and Crystal Palace’s Michy Batshuayi and Christian Benteke. That leaves them as favourites to be the competition’s Highest Scoring Team (excluding extra time) at 9/2, and with the highest Tournament Goals Scored spread of 8.75-9.5. According to our prices, Denmark are most likely to join Belgium in the next round, at an Index spread of 11.25-12.75 and at 1/6 to qualify. The Danes also have a Serie A-winner in their midst, with Christian Eriksen on 36 goals in 107 games internationally. The debuting Finns will be looking for some Championship magic from Teemu Pukki, while Russia will be trying to foster some domestic cohesion. Only 4 of Russia’s squad play outside the country, while 6 of the 26 are at Zenit Saint Petersburg. The path for the group winners pits them against a 3rd place side in the last-16, before realistically meeting either Italy (Group A winners) or Ukraine/Austria (Group C runners-up) in the quarters. The semis then conjure one of a long list of potentially tricky opponents, including Portugal, Germany, France, England, Spain or Croatia. And don't forget, Spreadex has a truly astounding number of Euro 2020 prices, from Group and Tournament Goals Scored, Goals Conceded and Total Goal Minutes for every team AND the competition as a whole, to top goalscorer markets, in-play betting on every game, long-term spreads and fixed odds, and more!
