Though it would be the upset of the century if they were to progress, from a betting perspective it is North Macedonia that make Group C so interesting. Defensively the Euro-debutants aren’t a San Marino or Lichtenstein-style embarrassment – they even beat Germany in World Cup qualification at the end of March. Yet that hasn’t stopped Spreadex lumbering them with a number of tournament-low spreads. They’ve got the lowest Group Goals Scored spread of 1.8-2.2, the lowest Group Total Goal Minutes spread of 92-112, and the 2nd worst Group Goals Conceded spread of 5.8-6.3. That, inversely, has helped the Netherlands to the highest Group Points Won spread of every team in the competition, at 6.4-6.9, with the 2nd best Group Goals Scored spread of 5.6-6.1. According to our prices, this is very much the Netherlands’ group to win. Though relative outsiders at 12/1 to win the competition, they’re at 1/66 to qualify and 40/85 to top Group C. And yet, the Dutch haven’t looked particularly strong in the last year or so. Their record includes losses to Italy, Mexico and Turkey, and, as recent as June 2nd, a 2-2 draw against Scotland. They haven’t even played in an international tournament – sorry Nations League – since 2014 and went out in the group stages of Euro 2012. If you do take the Netherlands as group winners, the race for 2nd place is then between Ukraine and Austria, who sit at Group C Index spreads of 8.5-10 and 8-9.5 respectively. Whoever wins Group C has one of the more favourable paths to at least the semi-finals, taking on a 3rd place side in the last-16, before meeting the runner-up from either Group A or B – probably Switzerland or Denmark – in the quarter-finals. On paper, the semis then could throw up either England or Spain. And don't forget, Spreadex has a truly astounding number of Euro 2020 prices, from Group and Tournament Goals Scored, Goals Conceded and Total Goal Minutes for every team AND the competition as a whole, to top goalscorer markets, in-play betting on every game, long-term spreads and fixed odds, and more!
