Who is favourite to win the 2020/21 Premier League Golden Boot? Will a familiar face pick up the honour, or will a new boy like Timo Werner race to the head of the pack? Handily, Spreadex has a host of football spread betting Player Season markets, including Season Goals, to separate the frontrunners from the also rans. So who tops our list? Take a look below! 1. Mohamed Salah – 20-22 goalsIf Mo Salah is to win his 3rd Golden Boot, he will have to improve on his previous season’s tally for the first time since joining the Premier League. The Egyptian ace has gone from 32 goals, to 22, to a comparatively weak 19 last season – will that decline continue? Spreadex has him at a Season Goals spread of 20-22, with fixed odds of 7/2 to be top scorer. He also has a Season Player Goal Minutes spread of 1010-1110, and a Season Assists spread of 7.75-8.75. 2. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 18.5-20 goalsSharing the 2018-19 Golden Boot with Salah and Sadio Mane, Aubameyang then came close in 2019/20, scoring 22 goals for a 2nd consecutive season. Such consistency means there is potentially money to be made from a Season Goals spread of 18.5-20. The Gabonese forward also sits at fixed odds of 5/1 to win the Golden Boot, with a PGM spread of 910-985. 3. Harry Kane – 18-19.5 goalsAfter back-to-back Golden Boots in 2015/16 and 2016/17, and a 30 goal haul in 2017/18, Kane has fallen off the pace in the last couple of seasons due to injury, with 17 and 18 goals respectively. Can he remain healthy can get back in the hunt? Spreadex has the England captain at a Season Goals spread of 18-19.5, a Season PGM spread of 880-955, and 6/1 to win the Golden Boot. 4. Sergio Aguero – 17-18.5 goalsCan Sergio Aguero get to 200 goals this season? He currently sits on 180, meaning he would need to equal Alan Shearer’s record of 7 Premier League seasons of 20 goals or more to reach a double century. Spreadex has Aguero falling just short, at a Season Goals spread of 17-18.5, alongside a PGM spread of 840-915. He is also 7/1 to be 2020/21’s top goalscorers. 5. Timo Werner – 16.5-18 goalsThe big unknown on this list, Chelsea star Timo Werner has seen his Season Goals spread creep up during the pre-season, from 15-16.5 to 16.5-18. And though that puts him on the same spread as Raheem Sterling and Sadio Mane, he has a superior fixed odds price of 11/1 to win the Golden Boot. Across his 4 terms at RB Leipzig he averaged 19.5 Bundesliga goals per season, peaking with 28 goals in 34 games in 2019/20. He also sits at a PGM spread of 770-845, and a Season Assists spread of 6-7. 6. Raheem Sterling – 16.5-18 goalsAfter reaching the 20 goal mark for the first time last season, Raheem Sterling just misses out on the top 5, with the same Season Goals spread of 16.5-18 as Werner, but a fixed odds price of 12/1. He does come ahead of Sadio Mane, however, thanks to a Season Assists spread of 8-9 to the Senegalese star’s 5.75-6.75. 7. Sadio Mane – 16.5-18 goalsIn the shadow of Salah, Mane is nevertheless a consistent presence for the defending champions, getting a Golden Boot-winning 22 goals in 2018/19, and a respectable, title-winning 18 goals last season. This time out he sits at a Season Goals spread of 16.5-18. 8. Jamie Vardy – 16-17.5 goalsLast season’s first-time Golden Boot winner with 23 goals – Kane won it the year Leicester romped to the title – Jamie Vardy is now all the way down in 8th. That’ll be because of his, and Leicester’s, drop off in form in 2020. Vardy sits at a Season Goals spread of 16-17.5, and is at 12/1 to be the season’s top goalscorer. 9. Gabriel Jesus – 14.5-16 goalsInitially Pep Guardiola’s choice to replace Aguero, only to be set-back by injury and the Argentine’s sheer consistency, Gabriel Jesus hasn’t quite delivered at Man City, with 41 league goals across 4 seasons. Heading into 2020/21, he is at a Season Goals spread of 14.5-16, compared to the 14 goals scored in 2019/20. 10. Raul Jimenez – 14-15.5 goalsOne of the key parts of the rise of Wolves, Raul Jimenez has scored 13 and 17 goals during his 2 seasons in England. Spreadex has the Mexican somewhere in the middle in 2020/21, at a Season Goals spread of 14-15.5. 11. Marcus Rashford – 13.5-15 goalsReaching a bit of a Man United pile-up, Marcus Rashford – who had a notable 2019/20 on and off the pitch, including 17 Premier League goals – takes the 11th spot ahead of Anthony Martial. Despite both being at Season Goals spread of 13.5-15, and fixed odds of 22/1, Rashford is at a Season Assists spread of 7-8 to his teammate’s 5.5-6.5. 12. Anthony Martial – 13.5-15 goalsWith the same 17 league goals as Rashford last season, it makes sense that Martial and the England forward are neck and neck heading into 2020/21. Both have Season Goals spreads of 13.5-15, and are 22/1 to win the Golden Boot. 13. Bruno Fernandes 13-14.5 goalsAfter the colossal impact he had in just half a season, Bruno Fernandes could be the key to United’s success in 2020/21. The Europa League’s top scorer for 2019/20, and a penalty-taking whizz, he sits at a Season Goals spread of 13-14.5, with a Season Assists spread of 9.5-11. 14. Danny Ings – 13-14.5 goalsAccording to Spreadex, Danny Ings is going to be something of a one-hit wonder, at least when it comes to challenging for the Golden Boot. Finishing on a career best 22 goals in 2019/20, a Season Goals spread of 13-14.5 would suggest a rather sharp drop in form for the newly-anointed England international. 15. Roberto Firmino – 12.5-14 goalsThe 3rd and final Liverpool star on this list, Roberto Firmino is at a Season Goals spread of 12.5-14, which would be quite the improvement on last season’s 9 Premier League goals – his worst tally since joining the club. 16. Richarlison – 11.5-13 goalsFor 2 seasons in a row now Richarlison has scored 13 Premier League goals for Everton. Will he be able to do better than that in 2020/21? Spreadex has the 23-year old Brazilian at a Season Goals spread of 11.5-13. 17. Kevin De Bruyne – 11-12.5 goalsMaking it 4 Man City players on this list, Spreadex’s 2019/20 Player of the Year Kevin De Bruyne is at a Season Goals spread of 11-12.5, and a league-leading Season Assists spread of 11-12.5. A fixed odds price of 80/1 to win the Golden Boot, meanwhile, puts him ahead of Aleksandar Mitrovic. 18. Aleksandar Mitrovic – 11-12.5Returning to the Premier League after scoring a Championship-topping 26 goals during Fulham’s push for promotion, Mitrovic has the same Season Goals spread of 11-12.5 as De Bruyne, but has a fixed odds price of 100/1 to be the league’s top goalscorer. Across his 3 previous appearances in the Premier League, he has a total of 21 goals. 19. Christian Pulisic – 10.5-12With 9 goals in 25 league games during his debut season at Chelsea, Pulisic more than doubled the highest total he ever managed in the Bundesliga for Dortmund. Will he be given the chance to improve in an increasingly competitive Chelsea squad? Spreadex the American at a Season Goals spread of 10.5-12. 20. Mason Greenwood – 10-11.5Taking the final spot on this list, Mason Greenwood is at a Season Goals price of 10-11.5, after scoring 10 goals last season. Though that’s the same spread as Tottenham’s Son Heung-min, Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Burnley’s Chris Wood, Greenwood has the better odds on winning the Golden Boot, at 40/1.Disclaimer: Player must participate in 10 different Premier League matches otherwise bets will be void. Transfers to other Premier League teams still count. No allocation is awarded for a player not playing any particular game. Goals when starting or coming on as a substitute both count.
