Can Bayern Munich end Real Madrid’s hopes of reaching a 3rd consecutive Champions League final, at 7.45pm on BT Sport 2? Though they took the lead in the 1st leg, the German champions eventually succumbed to the European expertise of Zinedine Zidane’s squad, losing the tie 2-1 following strikes from Marcelo and Marco Asensio either side of the break. That gives Real a pair of potentially fixture-deciding away goals, meaning Bayern really need to pick up a win at the Bernabeu to stand the best chance of travelling to Kiev at the end of the month. Luckily for Bayern – who will be missing Arjen Robben – a precedent has been set for that this season. Though Real Madrid may have only lost 8 times in 2017/18, 5 of those have come at home, including that nail-biting 3-1 defeat to Juventus in their quarter-final 2nd leg, a result that very nearly imperilled their place in the Champions League. Admittedly 5 home losses in 27 games isn’t the most heartening statistic, but it does somewhat dispel the idea that the Bernabeu is an impenetrable fortress. The semi-final 1st leg was also notable for being the first game since last season’s final in Cardiff that Cristiano Ronaldo failed to score in a Champions League fixture. The Portuguese powerhouse will be looking to make up for that this time out, especially since he is still chasing his own record for most goals scored in a single Champions League season (he is just 2 behind the 17 goal high watermark set in 2013/14). Ronaldo sits at a Super Mega PGM of 74-86, a fair way ahead of Robert Lewandowski at 53-61, with the former having treble the Champions League goals of the latter this season. While hosts may well want to batten down the hatches ahead of their visit from the German champs, they are just about fancied to come out the otherwise, with Spreadex offering a tight Real Madrid/Bayern Munich Goal Supremacy spread of 0.1-0.3 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.55-3.75 and a Bookings spread of 52-56.
