Can Juventus get revenge for last season’s Champions League final flop when they host Real Madrid in their quarter-final 1st leg at 7.45pm on BT Sport 2? After being ran close by Roma in 2016/17, this season has seen Juve held from the Serie A top spot by Napoli from mid-September all the way til early March, only for a wobble from the Partenopei to allow Turin’s finest to finally reclaim 1st place. This persistent good form domestically – 2 losses, 3 draws and 25 wins in the league, plus the a Coppa Italia final in May – has been matched in Europe, even if at an Outright Index spread of 36-39 they’re not fancied to go much further. Part of Juve’s slight underdog status is arguably due to who they have faced so far. They were stuck in a group with Barca – their opening loss the Italians’ only defeat in the competition this season – before taking on Tottenham in the last 16, with the English press obviously more focused on the fate of Spurs than the chances of their opponents. Still, they shouldn’t be underestimated, especially not with Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala both on 22 goals in all competitions and at Super Mega PGMS of 21-26. As for Real, the Champions League presents Zinedine Zidane the last chance to turnaround a season that, by club standards, has been a bitter disappointment. They’re well off the pace in La Liga, sat in 3rd a whole 13 points off of leaders Barcelona, and were knocked out of the Copa del Rey by Leganes of all sides. They even finished behind Tottenham in Group H after suffering a 3-1 loss at Wembley. However, they came out of their choice last 16 fixture against PSG with a 5-2 aggregate victory, with Cristiano Ronaldo – who has been explosive in 2018 after a slightly tame end to 2017 – nabbing 3 goals across the 2 legs. Unsurprisingly Ronaldo has a hefty Super Mega PGM of 50-58, and may be the difference in Turin, with Spreadex offering a Real Madrid/Juventus (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.1-0.3 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.45-2.65. There’s a bit less suspense in Tuesday’s other quarter-final, as Bayern Munich travel to Sevilla at 7.45pm on BT Sport 3. Jupp Heynckes’ side are heading for their 6th consecutive Bundesliga title, with a 17 point lead at the top of the table, and group stage loss to PSG aside have stormed the Champions League, racking up an 8-1 aggregate win over Besiktas in the last 16. They’ve also got a full-throated Robert Lewandowski at their disposal, with the Poland poacher on 35 goals and a huge Super Mega PGM of 67-77. Sevilla’s season pales in comparison. They’re somehow in 7th in La Liga despite losing 12 out of 30 games, and just about scrapped through the Champions League group stages. Yet they still managed to knock out Man United in the last 16, an Old Trafford brace from Wissam Ben Yedder – who has a Super Mega PGM of 24-29 – setting up Tuesday’s quarter-final. They might run into trouble against the German champions-elect, however, with Spreadex offering a Bayern Munich/Sevilla (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.95-1.15 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.95-3.15.
