Saturday sees two of the Premier League’s most under pressure managers try and shift the spotlight elsewhere, as Liverpool host Arsenal at 5.30pm on Sky Sports 1. February proved to be a pretty awful month for the Gunners; they were trounced by Chelsea and Bayern Munich, and while they beat Hull and Sutton United major questions are now (or should that be once again?) being asked about Arsene Wenger’s position at the club. Add onto that reports that Juventus have made an official bid for Alexis Sanchez, the Premier League’s top scorer with 17 goals (and a Super Mega PGM of 28-34), and the North London club is trapped in a deep malaise. Things are actually far worse at Liverpool, however. Since the New Year began the Reds have won just 1 game in all competitions, an impressive 2-0 victory over Tottenham. Beyond that they have been dreadful, with losses to the relegation-battling Swansea, Hull and Leicester joined by draws against Sunderland, Man United and Chelsea; they were also booted out of both the EFL Cup, by Southampton, and the FA Cup, through an ignominious defeat to Wolves. Yet Jurgen Klopp’s side still have a good record against the league’s big clubs, something that can’t be said about the Gunners. With that in mind Spreadex are offering a Liverpool/Arsenal Goal Supremacy spread of 0.35-0.55 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.9-3.1 – remember the last fixture between these 2 sides produced 7 goals AND they are the 1st and 2nd top scoring teams in the league respectively. Before all that EFL Cup winners Manchester United take on Bournemouth at 12.30pm Sky Sports 1. United weren’t exactly at their best at Wembley last weekend. However, through sheer force of will Zlatan Ibrahimovic led them to victory, his 25th and 26th goals of the season – the latter coming in the 87th minute – gifting Jose Mourinho his first proper bit of Old Trafford silverware. As a reward for his efforts last Sunday Ibrahimovic heads into Saturday’s match with a staggering Super Mega PGM of 81-96. That doesn’t bode well for Bournemouth. Though the Cherries are in 14th place, things are so tight at the bottom that it would only take a few more dodgy results to send them into the relegation zone. And for a team that hasn’t won a game in 2017, and has lost their last 4 league fixtures in a row, that is more than a possibility. If Zlatan is in his recent inimitable form then the Cherries could be pulped, with Spreadex offering a Man United/Bournemouth Goal Supremacy spread of 1.8-2 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.05-3.25. Sunday then sees Everton try and keep their unbeaten run in take when they travel to Tottenham at 1.30pm on Sky Sports 1. After a serious wobble in the final quarter of 2016 the Toffees have become tough to chew, and haven’t lost in the league in 9 games. That period includes a 2-0 victory against (barely) defending champions Leicester, a 4-0 thrashing of Man City and the 6-3 romp against Bournemouth. As ever Romelu Lukaku has been the club’s leading light, the Belgian scoring 5 goals in his last 3 games; he heads to White Hart Lane with a Super Mega PGM of 21-16. Spurs had their own little unbeaten run going until a fortnight ago, when a loss to Liverpool seemingly unravelled the side to such a degree that they went and got knocked out of the Europa League by Gent. Nevertheless their domestic form is still impressive, and they currently sit in 2nd place (admittedly 10 points behind Chelsea). Harry Kane has also looked lethal of late, his 22 goals in all competitions leaving him with a Super Mega PGM of 61-71. Despite the Toffees renewed optimism Spurs are still the stronger side, with Spreadex offering a Tottenham/Everton Goal Supremacy spread of 0.9-1.1 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.75-2.95. Finally, bottom of the table Sunderland have to endure a visit from Manchester City at 4pm on Sky Sports 1. Despite the best efforts of Jermain Defoe, who has 14 league goals this season, the Black Cats find themselves firmly rooted in the relegation zone. It would only take a bit of luck to escape the pit, but that doesn’t look likely against City. That’s because Pep Guardiola’s side have been a bit beastly in recent weeks. When they want to City can really tear into a side, as they did to Huddersfield (who may well replace Sunderland in the Premier League next season) during Wednesday’s FA Cup replay. Our traders are expecting another big score line, offering a Manchester City/Sunderland Goal Supremacy spread of 1.7-1.9 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.25-3.45.
