Will Tyson Fury trounce Sefer Seferi when he competes in his first fight for 2 and a half years on Saturday, at 10pm on BT Sport 1? The Gypsy King’s last bout was astonishing. Going up against the monstrous Wladimir Klitschko in Dusseldorf, Fury took the Ukrainian hulk to the full 12 rounds, coming out the other side with a unanimous victory. That left Fury with a remarkable haul of titles, including the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, Lineal and The Ring heavyweight championships. Yet this was to be the fighter’s peak, with the next couple of years marred by depression, drugs and alcohol. By October 2016, having already been stripped of his IBF title due to picking a rematch with Klitschko – that was eventually cancelled – over a fight against his mandatory challenger Vyacheslav Glazkov, Fury relinquished the rest of his belts, getting ahead of a likely inevitability given a then-pending anti-doping investigation and subsequent suspension. Yet, after a lengthy battle with UKAD and the British Boxing Board of Control, Fury’s back, selecting Sefer Seferi as his re-entry to the boxing world. The 39-year old Albanian is a bit of a soft return for the controversial fighter; though he has a 23-1 record, that one defeat was the only time the cruiserweight jumped up a class to the heavyweights in a losing effort against Manuel Charr. So a Fury victory sort of likes like a forgone conclusion – he is at a ludicrous odd on price of 1/500, against Seferi’s 20/1, and is at a binary spread of 93.3-99.9 to continue his unbeaten streak. More interesting, then, are the prices that surround the actual outcome. Spreadex are offering a Fight Minutes spread of 15.75-17.25, while the Total Rounds fixed odds are at 4/7 for Under 5.5 and 5/4 for Over 5.5. As for the Method of Victory, the most obvious answer is Fury by Stoppage (in rounds 1-10) at 1/8, followed by Fury by Decision (after 10 rounds) at 5/1, and Seferi by Stoppage (in rounds 1-10) at 33/1.
