Can Huddersfield claim their first victory of the season when they host an equally troubled Fulham at 8pm on Sky Sports Football? It seems safe to say at the moment that the Terriers are the worst side in the Premier League. Having narrowly avoided relegation in 2017/18, Huddersfield are ripe for the drop this season, currently stuck in 20th place. Embarrassingly they’ve only scored one more goal than they have points accrued, their 3 draws narrowly beaten by the 4 times they’ve found the back of the net. And any hope of a respite elsewhere was dashed, until the FA Cup gets underway, by a 2-0 2nd round defeat to Stoke in the EFL Cup. If Huddersfield are at the bottom of the table on most metrics, they are not quite as bad as Fulham in one important way. In 10 games the West London club have conceded a truly abysmal 28 goals, with notable hammerings against Arsenal (5-1) and Cardiff (4-2). Yet they have won a game, beating Burnley 4-2 (admittedly all the way back at the end of August). The Cottagers also got a bit further in the EFL Cup, victories over Exeter and Millwall coming before an entirely predictable 2-0 loss at Man City. It feels a bit futile to highlight any of Huddersfield’s forwards ahead of Monday’s game – the club hasn’t even scored at the John Smith’s Stadium this season – but nevertheless Beninese disappointment Steve Mounie is at a Super Mega PGM of 30-36, trailed by Laurent Depoitre at 21-26. As for Fulham, they at least have Aleksandar Mitrovic, whose 5 goals leave him at a Super Mega PGM spread of 28-34. Though there is plenty of evidence to suggest they’ll bungle it, the Terriers do have an opportunity to get one in the win column this evening. Spreadex are offering a Huddersfield/Fulham Goal Supremacy spread of 0.15-0.35 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.4-2.6.
