Can Swansea’s 2018 rebound continue in their FA Cup replay against Notss County, at 8.05pm on BBC One? Carlos Carvalhal has done a hell of a job at rejuvenating Liberty Stadium’s finest. In his 6 league games in charge Swansea have won 3, including back-to-back victories against Liverpool and Arsenal, drawn 2 and lost only once. That has, finally, lifted the Swans out of the relegation zone, a level of – admittedly fragile – freedom the club haven’t felt since the end of October. The Portuguese manager has even brought Andre Ayew back into the fold, signing the Ghanaian winger from West Ham for £18 million after he was sold to the East London club for £20.5 million back in 2016. As for in the FA Cup, Swansea have been a tad less impressive. Their 3rd round fixture away to Wolves ended in a draw, a result that sounds disappointing until you consider Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are basically the Man City of the Championship. They managed to beat next season’s likely Premier League promotees in the replay, however, thanks to goals from Jordan Ayew and Wilfried Bony. They then, obviously, stumbled in what should have been an eminently winnable 4th round tie against Notts County, finishing at Meadow Lane with a 1-1 draw. The Magpies are having a pretty decent season, and are currently on track to nab one of League Two’s promotion places (even if they have endangered that achievement by a recent dip in form). Liberty Stadium has become something of a mini-fortress under Carvalhal, with Swansea’s home ground being the site of those huge wins over Liveprool and Arsenal. There’s no reason to think that will change on Tuesday, with Spreadex offering a Swansea/Notts County Goal Supremacy spread of 1.1-1.3 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.7-2.9.
