Can Tottenham salvage their Champions League campaign with a win over PSV Eindhoven, at 8pm on BT Sport 2? While not flawless domestically, Spurs are at least still ostensible title-contenders, their 8 wins and 3 losses – they are the only side in the league yet to draw a game – leaving them an erasable 5 points shy of Man City in 1st place. Yet in Europe, difficult group or not, they’ve seriously struggled. A frustrating last minute loss to Inter Milan got things off to a sour start, while a 4-2 drubbing at ‘home’ to Barcelona only compounded matters. Most recently they let go of a 2-1 lead in Eindhoven, Hugo Lloris’ 79th minute red card paving the way for a late equaliser from Luuk de Jong. That sole point means Tottenham will tumble out of the Champions League if they lose to PSV and Inter beat Barca at the San Siro. The Dutch champions find themselves in the same position, with their 11 game winning streak in the Eredivisie meaning little in Europe. Though Harry Kane may have a stupendous Super Mega PGM spread of 83-98, on 8 goals in all competitions he has been outscored by PSV’s Luuk de Jong and Hirving Lozano. The pair has 11 goals apiece, and sit at 12-16 and 13-17 respectively. Wembley hasn’t been too kind a home for Spurs this season; 3 of the club’s 5 losses have come there. Yet they are still fancied to hang on in the Champions League a bit longer, with Spreadex offering a Tottenham/PSV Eindhoven Goal Supremacy spread of 1.4-1.6 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.25-3.45. Before all that, Liverpool look to take command of Group C when they travel to Red Star Belgrade, at 5.55pm on BT Sport 2. Still unbeaten in the Premier League following their draw at Arsenal over the weekend, the Reds have nevertheless lost some of their shine. In the last 6 weeks they’ve only actually won thrice, against Huddersfield, Cardiff and Red Star. Elsewhere they’ve drawn against their top tier Premier League competition, here Chelsea, Man City and the aforementioned Gunners, lost to the Blues in the EFL Cup and suffered a late defeat to Napoli in Europe. As for Red Star, though they’ve been on quite the run in the Serbian SuperLiga, picking up 14 wins and a draw, they’ve been dire in the Champions league. A goalless draw against Napoli was the high spot so far, a result that was followed by a 6-1 hammering against PSG and a 4-0 lump in Liverpool. Mohamed Salah was the star of that latter fixture, the Egyptian picking up a brace. That leaves him at a Super Mega PGM of 67-77, trailed by Daniel Sturridge at 48-56 and Sadio Mane at 42-49. Jurgen Klopp will be wanting a repeat performance of their last game against their hosts, with Spreadex offering a Liverpool/Red Star Belgrade (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 2-2.2 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.1-3.3.
