Can Tottenham keep putting the pressure on Chelsea with a win over Watford at 12.30pm on Sky Sports 1? Spurs were close to seeing their title-chase effectively end on Wednesday night, trailing 1-0 at Swansea with just a few minutes left on the clock. However, Pochettino’s men pulled off a last gasp great escape, goals from Dele Alli, Son Heung-min and Christian Eriksen gifting the London club a 3-1 victory. Though Tottenham are still 7 points adrift from Chelsea, it means the Blues know they can’t afford to slip up, with Spurs losing just once since mid-December. That run looks unlikely to end this Saturday. While Watford have won their last 2 games, at home to Sunderland and West Brom, and have managed a few surprises this season, namely their wins over Man United and Arsenal, last time they played Spurs they got smashed 4-1. A similar score could be in order this weekend, Spreadex offering a Tottenham/Watford Goal Supremacy spread of 1.9-2.1 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.1-3.3. The champions-elect themselves will travel to Bournemouth at 5.30pm on BT Sport 1. Chelsea had a wobble last weekend, slipping to a surprise defeat to Crystal Palace; yet they showed their title credentials on Wednesday, confidently beating Man City 2-1. Eden Hazard was the architect of that victory, and goes into Saturday’s game at a Super Mega PGM of 37-43. The Belgian maestro is now only 4 goals away from Diego Costa’s current 17 goal Premier League tally, the Spaniard’s form dipping off sharply in 2017; nevertheless he still sits at a superior Super Mega PHM of 39-46. With wins over West Ham and Swansea, and draws against Man United, Southampton and Liverpool, Bournemouth are in the midst of their best period this season – admittedly, it couldn’t come soon enough given that the Cherries lost 5 of their first 7 league games in 2017. Their ability to frustrate top half opposite could concern the Blues, though in all honestly the south coast side shouldn’t pose too much of a problem, Spreadex offering a Chelsea/Bournemouth (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.95-1.15 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.7-2.9. Sunday then sees Manchester United chase an easy 3 points when they visit Sunderland at 1.30pm on Sky Sports 1. Though they still haven’t lost a league game since they were battered by Chelsea back in October, a string of draws – largely at Old Trafford – means that United have been outside the top 4 from mid-September onwards. It’s the kind of form that has Zlatan Ibrahimovic, by far the club’s top scorer with 27 goals and a Super Mega PGM of 63-73, sounding unsure about his future in Manchester. United’s issues do pale in comparison, however, to Sunderland’s. The Black Cats haven’t been out of the relegation zone since the end of August, and have been in 20th place for the last 6 match-weeks in a row. The chances of them being in the top flight next season are almost non-existent; they have 20 points, a whole 10 behind Hull in 17th, with a game in hand that is arguably of no use to them. In other words, Mourinho may get the catharsis he needs on Sunday, with Spreadex offering a Manchester United/Sunderland (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 1.5-1.7 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.7-2.9. Finally Craig Shakespeare will be looking to keep up his unbeaten run when Leicester face Everton at 4pm on Sky Sports 1. In what is the latest twist in possibly the greatest story in footballing history, the Foxes have gone from losing 5 games in a row to a 5 game winning streak in the space of one fired Italian. Jamie Vardy has exemplified that turnaround, scoring 5 goals in 5 games to head to Goodison Park with a Super Mega PGM of 15-19. As for the Toffees, well they were unlucky not to take all 3 points from Man United on Wednesday, denied by a 94th minute penalty. If Everton can hold onto their current 7th place, they should still qualify for the Europa League due to United winning the EFL Cup and the FA Cup semi-finalists being made up of 4 of the top 5. And while they have a nice 7 point lead over 8th place West Brom, Ronald Koeman won’t want that deficit to see any shrinkage. Luckily our Spreadex traders fancy the Toffees’ chances on Sunday, offering an Everton/Leicester Goal Supremacy spread of 0.7-0.9 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.7-2.9.
