Can West Brom recover from their disappointing return to the Championship when they travel to Nottingham Forest at 7.45pm on Sky Sports Football? With Darren Moore – the man who oversaw that admittedly pointless spring bounce as caretaker manager last season – in charge, and an unbeaten pre-season in the bag, spirits would have been high heading into West Brom’s first Championship game for 8 years. Yet Saturday saw them slump to a late 2-1 defeat to Bolton, a 89th minute winner from Yanic Wildschut getting the Baggies’ campaign off to the worst start possible. Last season was one to forget for Nottingham Forrest. They finished in 17th, 12 points above the drop zone, but miles away from a spot in the play-offs. Saturday’s curtain-raiser wasn’t much more memorable, Forest managing a 1-1 draw against Bristol in a game most notable for the fact they picked up 4 yellow cards in the 2nd half. That still gives the edge over the Baggies, however, with Spreadex offering a Nottingham Forest/West Brom Goal Supremacy spread of 0-0.2 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.35-2.55. Both Middlesbrough and Sheffield United are also after their first wins of the season; they face-off at 7.45pm on Sky Sports Interactive. Attempting to put their play-off semi-final loss behind them, it looked like Boro were going to suffer a woeful start to 2018/19, 2-down against Millwall with 3 minutes of regular time to go. However an 87th minute strike from Martin Braithwaite – who heads into Tuesday night at a Super Mega PGM of 16-20 – and a 97th minute goal from George Friend meant they left the Den with a point. Having taken the lead against former Premier Leaguers Swansea, Sheffield ended up blowing it, with an equaliser from Oliver McBurnie and an 85th minute strike from Yan Dhanda meaning the Blades starting their season with nothing. They might struggle to get anything from Tuesday’s fixture, with Spreadex offering a Middlesbrough/Sheffield United Goal Supremacy spread of 0.2-0.4 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.25-2.45.
