Will Man City inflict more misery on a faltering Chelsea this Sunday, at 5.30pm on BT Sport 1? Losses for the Blues this season have been like buses: you wait ages for one, and then 2 come in less than a fortnight. A poor 3-1 trip up at Tottenham, Maurizio Sarri’s debut Premier League defeat, was disappointing, but at least came against top 5 competition. The same can’t be said for Wednesday’s game at Wolves. Chelsea had led from the 18th minute thanks to Rufus Loftus-Cheek, only to concede either side of the hour mark, gifting the Wanderers their first league win in 2 months. They couldn’t have really picked a worse time to stumble. Man City are still, 15 weeks in, yet to lose a game domestically; in fact, they’ve won their last 7 Premier League games in a row, scoring 24 goals – that’s an average of nearly 3 and a half goals per game – while conceding only 4. It doesn’t even matter that they’re missing Sergio Aguero for the 3rd consecutive fixture. For any other team that’d be a colossal loss; and obviously Pep Guardiola would rather have him at his disposal. Yet the depth of City’s front line is astonishing. Gabriel Jesus is at a Super Mega PGM of 39-45, with Raheem Sterling at 21-25, and Leroy sane and Riyad Mahrez both at 18-22 (and that’s not to mention David Silva and Bernardo Silva, at 13-17 and 10-14 respectively). As for the Blues, their best bet appears to be Eden Hazard, who is at the same Super Mega PGM of 21-16 as Olivier Giroud, despite having bagged double the amount of goals scored by the Frenchman this season. If this game was a few weeks ago, then the hosts would have perhaps felt like they could end the champion’s unbeaten streak. Now, however, the visitors will be feeling confident, with Spreadex offering a Man City/Chelsea (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.45-0.65, alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.8-3 and a Bookings spread of 45-49.
