Can Chelsea get revenge for November’s lacklustre loss to Tottenham when they travel to Wembley for their EFL Cup semi-final 1st leg this Tuesday? Both sides are coming off trouble-free entries into this season’s FA Cup. The Blues breezed past Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge, with a 2nd half brace from Alvaro Morata – who heads into the semi-final at a Super Mega PGM of 24-29 – gifting them a 2-0 victory and a visit from Sheffield Wednesday or Luton Town at the end of the month.
As for Spurs, they absolutely ruined Tranmere last Friday night. It may have taken them 40 minutes to get on the board, but in the 2nd half the flood gates opened. Right back Sergio Aurier completed a brace after kicking things off before the break, Fernando Llorente, who sits at a Super Mega PGM of 21-26, nabbed a hat-trick, and Son Heung-Min, at 22-27, scored his 12th goal in all competitions. Then, in an act of immense cruelty, Harry Kane came on with a quarter of the game left to go, the England forward making it 7-0 in the 82nd minute. He arrives at Wembley with a Super Mega PGM of 39-46. In terms of their EFL Cup runs, Chelsea knocked out Liverpool in the 3rd round, before having a bit of a wobble against Derby in the 4th round and picking up a late 1-0 win over Bournemouth in the quarter-finals. Spurs, meanwhile, almost stumbled in their first fixture, requiring penalties to get past Watford, only to ease past West Ham and Arsenal in the next 2 rounds. Though Spurs didn’t have any troubles last time they hosted the Blues, Tuesday night could be tight, with Spreadex offering a Tottenham/Chelsea Goal Supremacy spread of 0-0.2, alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.75-2.95.
