Match Preview - Leicester v Liverpool, Tuesday 2nd December

The loss of bite-y talisman Luis Suarez and injury to their other star striker Daniel Sturridge has seen the Reds languish at 11th. Slightly less surprising is the current form of last-placed Leicester, who have struggled to match the pace of their Premier League peers since being promoted last season.

When these two teams meet on Tuesday it will be a clash of the two most out of form teams in the league, with Liverpool performing marginally better than last year’s Championship winners. In the last 6 games each, they have only managed one win between them; that was Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Stoke on Saturday. Leicester have fared even worse, their best result in their last 6 games being a 0-0 draw against Sunderland 2 weeks ago. Recent head-to-head form is pretty even, with the last 4 match-ups between the two teams resulting in 2 draws and a win a piece.

Leicester And Liverpool Last Nine Results

Liverpool’s weekend win might be the deciding edge between the two teams, as manager Brendan Rodgers attempts to re-capture last season’s magic, and recover from the embarrassment of leaving captain Steven Gerrard out of the team on the 16th anniversary of his Merseyside debut.

Here at Spreadex we have seen plenty of bets on the 3/1 fixed odds of fewer than 1.5 goals, as both teams have struggled to find the net recently. Liverpool’s narrow win at the weekend may spur them on to a win. But with neither of the teams’ recent form suggesting an obvious winner, Spreadex clients seem to be putting their money on late goals potentially being on the cards to clinch the match, with the Total Goal Minutes spread at 142-152.
