Will Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final 2nd legs throw up the same kind of excitement as Tuesday’s fixtures? Though they only lost the 1st leg 2-1, Sevilla face a hell of a tough job when they travel to Bayern Munich. The Spaniards – who aren’t particularly well in La Liga, but have got a Copa del Rey final in a week and a half – actually took the lead in the 1st leg, only for an own goal from Jesus Navas and a second half strike Thiago Alcantara giving the visitors a pair of potentially crucial away goals. As Roma proved yesterday, far greater odds have been overcome on route to a Champions League semi-final, so Sevilla shouldn’t be counted out. However, it is important to note that Bayern have been beastly at home in Europe this season; in 4 games at the Allianz Arena they’ve scored 14 goals, more than a third of which have come from Robert Lewandowski, who sit at an imposing Super Mega PGM of 97-117. The already-crowned German champs may be looking for another boatload on Wednesday, with Spreadex offering a Bayern Munich/Sevilla Goal Supremacy spread of 1.9-2.1 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.7-3.9. If Sevilla have a difficult challenge ahead of them, then the task on Juventus’ hands when they visit the Bernabeu is perhaps insurmountable. The Italians, who are on track to capture their 7th consecutive Serie A title, were absolutely ransacked in Turin, with Real Madrid coming away from the Allianz Stadium with a commanding 3-0 lead. Of course it was Cristiano Ronaldo that provided the thrust of that victory, his brace taking his season tally in Europe to 14 goals, leaving him 3 goals behind the record he set in 2013/14. It also marked the 10th consecutive Champions League appearances the Portuguese captain has scored in, as well as leaving him effectively locked on to be the competition’s most prolific forward for the 6th season in a row. Unsurprisingly, then, Ronaldo has a rather sizeable Super Mega PGM of 85-100. Massimiliano Allegri and co. need a 4 goal margin if they’ve going to the next round, a daunting mission made all the harder given the hosts are heavily favoured at a Real Madrid/Juventus Goal Supremacy spread of 0.9-1.1 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.05-3.25.
