Can Tottenham take advantage of an already-qualified Barcelona and reach the Champions League knockouts, at 8pm on BT Sport 3? For Mauricio Pochettino and co. to get into the last 16 they basically need to match, or do better than, Inter Milan. Sadly for Spurs, the Italians host the eliminated PSV, while Tottenham are forced to enter the cavernous maw of the Nou Camp. The one saving grace might be that Barca have not only already booked their spot in the next round, they’ve done so as guaranteed Group B winners. Luis Suarez is out with a knee injury, while Lionel Messi might be kept on the sidelines, despite having a Super Mega PGM of 61-71. Repeatedly this season Spurs have stumbled against their ostensible peers. Their losses in the league have come against Liverpool, Man City and, at the start of the month, Arsenal – their defeat at Watford doesn’t quite fit the billing – while in Europe they slipped up at the San Siro against Inter and at Wembley when hosting Barcelona. As ever, Harry Kane is going to be crucial if Tottenham are to succeed in Spain. The England forward has 13 goals in all competitions this season, including 4 in the Champions League, and sits at a Super Mega PGM of 45-52. Fernando Llorente is then at 22-27, with Son Heung-Min at 21-26 and Dele Alli at 15-16. It’s a big ask, but not an impossible task, even if Spreadex are offering a Barcelona/Tottenham Goal Supremacy spread of 0.3-0.5 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.2-3.4. In just as tough a spot, new Premier League leaders Liverpool need to win against Napoli at 8pm on BT Sport 2. While they are now the only team in the league yet to lose a game, in Europe the Reds have been a bit of a mess – that triumphant curtain-raiser against PSG seems a long time ago at this point. Losses to Napoli, Red Star Belgrade and PSG mean that Liverpool need to beat their Italian visitors by more than one goal to secure a place in the next round. Whether they finish in 1st or 2nd, however, will be in part dependant on what PSG manage in Belgrade. Now the league’ joint top scorer with 10 goals following Saturday’s hat-trick against Bournemouth, Mohamed Salah goes into Tuesday night at a Super Mega PGM of 53-61, well ahead of both teammate Daniel Sturridge’s 33-39, and the 20-24 shared by Napoli’s Dries Mertens, Lorenzo Insigne and Arkadiusz Milik. They may have made a pig’s ear of things, but the Reds are still fancied to qualify, with Spreadex offering a Liverpool/Napoli Goal Supremacy spread of 0.85-1.05 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.95-3.15.
