The race for a place in Europe continues this weekend, with the top 6 all in action over a bumper Premier League Easter weekend. First up Tottenham host Bournemouth, at 12.30pm on Sky Sports 1. Though they still trail Chelsea by 7 points Spurs haven’t given up on the title just yet; they have been in scintillating form of late, winning their last 6 games in a row, scoring 18 goals while maintaining the best defence in the league. And they have Harry Kane back from injury far earlier than expected, the England forward sitting at a Super Mega PGM of 62-72. In contrast, only Swansea and Hull have conceded more goals than Bournemouth this season. Nevertheless the Cherries should be safe, with a 7 point gap between them and 18th place Swansea. Not that they stand much chance on Saturday, Spreadex offering a Tottenham/Bournemouth Goal Supremacy spread of 1.8-2 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.35-3.55. Saturday evening then sees a trip to St Mary’s for Man City, who take on Southampton at 5.30pm on BT Sport 1. City are going through another one of their toothless phases, the kind that have driven Pep Guardiola crazy all season. Though they beat Hull last weekend, that victory was preceded by a loss at Chelsea and draws against Stoke, Liverpool and Arsenal. They are, however, still in 3rd place, with a game in hand over Liverpool that, if won, would send them into 2nd. Though a top 10 finish is likely secured, the Saints don’t stand much chance of reaching Europe unless Everton collapse during the run-in. A win against City would, however, give Claude Puel and co. a taste of top tier success that, EFL Cup aside, has been largely missing this season. They have their work cut out for them, however, Spreadex offering a Man City/Southampton (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.65-0.85 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.85-3.05. Turning to Sunday and Liverpool need to avoid a wobble against West Brom, at 1.30pm on Sky Sports 1. Despite sitting in 3rd the Reds are in a pretty precarious position in terms of qualifying for the Champions League. They have played more games than their rivals, meaning they are potentially in danger of being overtaken by both Manchester sides. Klopp can’t afford a slip-up, then, against the Baggies; even a draw could severely dent their European credentials. As for West Brom themselves, they are currently on track for their best finish since 2011/12 though, like Southampton, they will likely have to be content with that achievement and that achievement alone. Given the Reds propensity to throw things away last minute a result isn’t entirely out of the question for Tony Pulis, but it will be tough, with Spreadex offering a Liverpool/West Brom (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.55-0.75 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.55-2.75. The weekend’s biggest game comes late Sunday afternoon, as Manchester United host Chelsea at 4pm on Sky Sports 1. Jose Mourinho didn’t much enjoy his first meeting with the Blues since departing last season, United on the receiving end of a 4-0 hammering. They haven’t lost a league game since, however, even if they haven’t been able to break into the top 4 during that period. While Chelsea may not have the same unbeaten run as United, they have the preferable record in having been at the top of the table since the end of October. This is arguably the last real challenge the Blues face before the season is over, their final league games after Sunday night involving none of the top 6. They can’t relax, however, with Spreadex offering a tight Manchester United/Chelsea Goal Supremacy spread of 0-0.2 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.25-2.45. Finally an in-trouble Arsenal drive north to face Middlesbrough on Monday, at 8pm on Sky Sports 1. Just when a chink of sunlight had appeared through the dark clouds hanging over the Gunners – a confident 3-0 win over West Ham – they went and blew it, succumbing to a 3-0 defeat against Crystal Palace, a side still not fully out of the relegation battle. It seriously damaged Arsenal’s chances of a top 4 finish, and further tightened the noose around Arsene Wenger’s neck. Luckily for the North London club, Middlesbrough are currently doing far worse than their Monday visitors. They haven’t won a league game since December 17th, and chances are they will be back in the Championship next season. That gives the Gunners the opportunity for a bit of catharsis, with Spreadex offering an Arsenal/Middlesbrough (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 1-1.2 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.75-2.95.
