Sports Blog 13/10/2015: UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifier Preview – Wales vs Andorra, Tuesday 12th October 2015

Despite losing 2-0 to Bosnia-Herzegovina at the weekend, Wales managed to qualify for their first major tournament since the 1958 World Cup after a helping hand from Cyprus, who beat potential party-poopers Israel 2-1. That defeat in Bosnia was their first loss of the qualifying campaign, and did damage to their quest to finish Group B in the top spot. Yet if Belgium lose against Israel (who need a win to nab the play-off spot from Bosnia) and Wales beat bottom place Andorra, they could end up qualifying in first, something that isn’t beyond the realms of possibility given that Belgium could only achieve a 1-0 over Israel back in March.

Wales Andorr Match Spreads October 13th

Wales themselves only managed to beat Andorra 2-1 in their opening game of qualifying all the way back in September 2014, a late second goal from Gareth Bale sealing the victory after a 6th minute penalty had given the Andorrans the lead. Yet things are a bit different now, and Bale will be looking for another brace on Tuesday night as he aims to overtake Edin Dzeko as Group B’s top scorer, on 6 goals to the Bosnian’s 7. Our Spreadex traders certainly think he has it in him, offering a whopping Super Mega PGM spread of 123-148; not to be left out Aaron Ramsey, who had Wales’ best chance in Zenica at the weekend, sits at a Super Mega PGM spread of 53-61.

Andorra, on the other hand, are the only team already eliminated in Group B. losing each one of their 9 games so far, conceding 34 and scoring only 4. That makes them one of 2 teams to have failed to collect a single point, joined by Gibraltar, who lost 10 out of 10 in Group D (even classic wooden-spooners San Marino managed a draw).

There is unlikely to be much of a contest this Tuesday, and Wales will want to end their historic qualifying campaign with an emphatic win in Cardiff; the spreads look that way, at least, with Spreadex offering a Wales/Andorra Goal Supremacy spread of 3.25-2.45 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.85-4.05.
