Returning to action after the inaugural Nations League weekend, can Liverpool cling onto the Premier League top spot with a success trip to Tottenham on Saturday, at 12.30pm on Sky Sports? The Reds have looked gooooood so far. Their quality was immediately apparent in the first fixture, where they swaggered their way through a 4-0 hammering of West Ham. A 2-0 win at Crystal Palace followed, with August rounded out with a 1-0 victory against a visiting Brighton. September then kicked-off with a 2-1 win over Leicester, a game that saw them concede their first goal of the season. Sadio Mane has really impressed, with 4 goals to his name, double the tally managed by Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian still has the better Super Mega PGM spread, however, at 34-41 to his Senegalese counterpart’s 25-30. Though you can’t take anything away from the Reds’ record, you could argue that they haven’t yet had to deal with the kind of test Tottenham will post on Saturday. Up until their last fixture Spurs have racked up a few very good results. A 2-1 win at Newcastle and a 3-1 victory against Fulham were to be expected; a 3-0 romp at Old Trafford was less routine, with Lucas Moura continuing his excellent start to the season. Yet the London club stumbled at the start of September, suffering a shock 2-1 loss to an unbeaten Watford. With 3 goals total, including a brace against Man United, the aforementioned Moura only has a Super Mega PGM of 16-20. And though that is understandably behind Harry Kane, who has a hefty spread of 43-50, the Brazilian also trails the likely returning Son Heung-Min at 18-22 and Fernando Llorente at 20-24. The outcome of Saturday’s match-up may be just as down to who doesn’t play as who does, with Spurs missing both Hugo Lloris and Dele Alli. That, alongside the fact they are yet to lose, just about gives the visitors the edge, at a Liverpool/Tottenham (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.1-0.3 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.85-3.05.
