Will there be any surprises in a Premier League-smothered set of FA Cup quarter-finals this weekend? Saturday kicks-off with a trip Wales-ward for Tottenham, who visit Swansea at 12.15pm on BT Sport 1. Spurs bounced back from their Champions League-exit in style last weekend, hammering Bournemouth 4-1, complete with a brace from Son Heung-min, who heads to the Liberty Stadium at a Super Mega PGM of 36-41. They did lose Harry Kane to injury, however, leaving their season endgame in peril As for Swansea, they’ve seen quite the turnaround in 2018, losing just twice in 15 games in all competitions, lifting from the relegation zone to 14th place in the process. Both sides have been reliant on replays against ostensibly easy opposition to get through the FA Cup, a fact that may mean more for the hopes of the hosts than the visitors. Regardless Spreadex are offering a Tottenham/Swansea (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 1.1-1.3 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.5-2.7. Next up, Manchester United try and erase the taste of their Sevilla-shocker when they host Brighton at 7.45pm on BT Sport 1. Jose Mourinho was blasted for his Champions League tactics mid-week, and may want to work out his feelings on the Seagulls. United haven’t had much of a challenge in the Cup so far this season, barrelling past Derby, Yeovil and Huddersfield without conceding a single goal. On the surface Brighton, who are sat in a very respectable 11th place in their debut Premier League season, have had a similarly frictionless run. However, it did take them 87th and 90th minute winners to get past Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough in the 3rd and 4th rounds respectively (they were far better in the 5th round, storming Coventry 3-1). While the Seagulls actually beat their hosts back in February, this time Mourinho is gunning for silverware, with Spreadex offering a Man United/Brighton Goal Supremacy spread of 1.55-1.75 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.65-2.85. Sunday then sees the one non-top flight side left in the competition Wigan take on a troubled Southampton at 1.30pm on BBC One. Currently chasing promotion back to the Championship, the Latics are one of just 4 teams to beat Man City this season, nabbing a dream 1-0 win in the 5th round. Though that’s undoubtedly their biggest scalp, they’d also already beaten Bournemouth and West Ham, building a nice little run of shock wins. They could well do it again on Sunday, given how rocky things are at Southampton. The Saints just gave the boot to Mauricio Pellegrino after they found themselves barely above the relegation zone with just one league win in 17 games, only to bring in Mark Hughes, himself let go from the equally endangered Stoke in January. That kind of flux could benefit their League One opponents, but it’s going to be tight, at a Southampton/Wigan (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.35-0.55 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.25-2.45. Finally a Barcelona-battered Chelsea travel to Leicester at 4.30pm on BBC One. Like the rest of the top tier Premier League sides left in the FA Cup, the competition represents Chelsea’s last chance at a trophy this season. After a strong showing in their Champions League last 16 1st leg, the Blues were steamrolled at the Nou Camp, leaving them with 5 losses in their last 10 games. Leicester, meanwhile, have gone off the boil a bit in 2018, but are still knocking on the door of a potential Europa League spot if they can overtake Burnley in the league. In the FA Cup they haven’t really been tested, with the Blues their first Premier League competition. That may be their undoing, with Spreadex offering a Chelsea/Leicester (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.3-0.5 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.6-2.8.
