Can England build on their battering of South Africa with full-bodied conquest of Fiji on Saturday, at 2.30pm on Sky Sports 2? Not only did England’s success last weekend end their 10 year jinx against the Springboks, it also marked a flawless 10 out of 10 games for Eddie Jones, his Gram Slam Six Nations run followed by a May victory over Wales and the 3 game triumph that was the test series in Australia. Yet Jones still wasn’t satisfied, giving his side a 6 out of 10 following the final whistle, stating that England can still ‘get a lot better’. England will likely get a chance to prove Jones right when they take on Fiji this weekend. The Fijians kicked off their autumn internationals with a whimper, slumping to a 40-7 defeat against the Barbarians in Belfast. It is hard to see the score line being much different when they travel to Twickenham, with Spreadex offering a whopping England/Fiji Points Supremacy spread of 39-42. Beyond England’s attempt to maintain their perfect record under Jones, the biggest game this weekend is a repeat of a fixture seen just a fortnight ago, as Ireland host New Zealand at 5.30pm on Sky Sports 2. That match in Chicago was a historic one for Ireland; after 111 years of trying to beat the All Blacks the men in green finally found a way to win, a 5-try, 40-29 thriller that also brought to an end the Kiwis’ record-breaking, World Cup-winning 18 game unbeaten run. Ireland followed up their achievement with a rampant 52-21 win over Canada, while New Zealand quickly got back on the horse with an unsurprisingly one-sided 68-10 thumping of Italy. Yet those games were nothing but moments of respite before Saturday’s dust up in Dublin, with Ireland aiming to become to first team to register back-to-back wins over the All Blacks since 2009. Our traders seem to doubt the Irish can recapture that Windy City magic, however, instead offering a New Zealand/Ireland (h) Points Supremacy spread of 15-18. Elsewhere, following a draw against the Barbarians and that aforementioned loss against England, South Africa will be looking for a bit of catharsis when they travel to Italy. It will be a truly worrying sign if the Springboks failed to find success in Rome, with Spreadex offering a South Africa/Italy (h) Points Supremacy spread of 17-20. Wales, meanwhile, are in need of their own reassurances. They just about squeaked past Argentina last weekend; before that was a relative drubbing from Australia. They should be safe against the 2019 World Cup hosts, however, Spreadex offering a Wales/Japan Points Supremacy spread of 26-29. After yet another one point loss at the hands of Australia Scotland will want to prove that for once they don’t have to be the bridesmaid when they face Argentina. It should be tight, with Spreadex offering a Scotland/Argentina Points Supremacy spread of 2-5. Also tough to call is the Aussies’ trip to Paris, with Spreadex offering a narrow France/Australia Points Supremacy spread of 2-5. And that’s not all. The Rugby League Four Nations comes to an end on Sunday with a predictably antipodean final at Anfield. It was actually closer than expected this year; while Australia were unbeaten, including a 14-8 win over the Kiwis, New Zealand’s draw against Scotland meant they finished just one point ahead of England in the final standings. The Aussies, then, should take their 3rd title, with Spreadex offering an Australia/New Zealand Points Supremacy spread of 10-13.
