Will Manchester United be more concerned with Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final than Wednesday’s trip to Bournemouth, at 7.45pm on BT Sport 1? United made a right mess of things last weekend. While the chances of them catching Man City up were practically non-existent, there are better ways for the title to be put beyond reach than a 1-0 home loss to West Brom, a team that, even with that shock victory, are almost certain to be heading to the Championship next season. Now, league-wise at least, United’s attentions will lie on keeping Liverpool at bay to secure 2nd place. Currently they are only 1 point ahead of the Reds, but with a game in hand over their bitter rivals that, if they win on Wednesday, should see them tighten their grip on the runners-up spot. However, things are complicated not only by their recent Baggies embarrassment, but the prospect of a tough FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham this Saturday. Reports suggest that, thanks to a combination of the two, Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba – who nevertheless sit at Super Mega PGMs of 30-36 and 18-22 respectively – may find themselves on the bench. Not to matter – United still have Romelu Lukaku, at a spread of 41-48, and Anthony Martial, at 25-30, to try and pop the Cherries. As for Bournemouth, they’re knocking on the door of a top 10 finish (even if they need Newcastle to slip up) after a pretty solid run of form. Since the start of 2018 they’ve only lost 2 league games, compared to 11 in the first half of the season, with 6 draws and 4 wins. Their record against top tier sides is also fairly impressive, with the last few months seeing victories over Arsenal and Chelsea (admittedly both of those teams have been well off the pace in 2017/18). On the other hand, they lost 4-1 to Tottenham in March, and may struggle again on Wednesday, with Spreadex offering a Manchester United/Bournemouth (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.55-0.75 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.85-3.05.
