Can Liverpool close the gap between them and Chelsea to a more manageable 6 points when they face Everton at 8pm on Sky Sports 1? Despite a wobble at the start of the month, with that shock loss to Bournemouth and a disappointing 2-2 draw against West Ham, Liverpool appeared to get things back on track last Wednesday when they travelled to Middlesbrough. A brace from Adam Lallana (who heads into Monday night at a Super Mega PGM of 15-19) surrounded a strike from Divock Origi (who sits at 28-33), giving the Reds their first win of December. Even with a game in hand Liverpool the most fecund front line in the Premier League, those 3 goals against Boro taking their tally to 40 goals in 16 matches. The aforementioned contributions of Lallana and Origi, who have 6 and 7 goals respectively in all competitions, are joined by 7 from Sadio Mane (who has a Super Mega PGM of 20-24) and 6 from Roberto Firmino (also at 20-24) and the injured Philippe Countinho. Everton, meanwhile, find themselves vaguely knocking on the door of a spot in Europe despite a fairly woeful campaign since mid-September. The Toffees headed into last Tuesday’s match against Arsenal with 1 win in 10 games; yet a tenacious performance at Goodison Park (where Everton are yet to lose in the league this season) saw them come away with an impressive 2-1 victory. That’s taken the Toffees to 9th place, but with 7th place beckoning if they can beat their Merseyside rivals. Koeman & co.’s chances of stealing a result off the Reds may rest on the shoulders of Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian has 9 goals in the league this season, the 5th best horde so far this season, and heads into the derby at a Super Mega PGM of 27-32. It’s set to be a pretty intense battle on Monday night, with Origi saying Liverpool are ready for ‘war’ and Spreadex offering a Bookings spread of 54-58. The visitors likely just have the advantage, however, despite the Toffee’s decent home record, with our traders plumping for a Liverpool/Everton (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.4-0.6 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.8-3.
