Can Bradford maintain a dark horse push for a League One play-off place when they travel to Doncaster, at 7.45pm on Sky Sports Main Event? The Bantams have really gone off the rails in 2018. At the end of 2017 Bradford were safely in the play-off zone, and could have even potentially challenged for one of the automatic promotions spots with a bit of luck and the right run of form. Yet since the New Year began they’ve gone in a very different direction. Following their January 1st victory over Fleetwood Town, Braford lost 5 League One games on the trot, be it against relegation battlers like Northampton, AFC Wimbledon and Oldham, mid-table fodder like Bristol or promotion-chasers like Rotherham. They then managed to pick up a couple of wins in mid-February, against Bury and Charlton, only to then to lose back-to-back games to Plymouth and Wigan. That’s 9 League One fixtures without a win, a number that goes up to 10 if you include January’s FA Cup 3rd round defeat at the hands of League Two’s Yeovil. BUT...Bradford still stand a chance of reaching the play-offs. Currently they sit in 11th place, 7 points off Argyle in 6th, but with a pair of games – including Monday’s match – in hand. In other words, it’s not too late for Simon Grayson to turn things around and likely save his job in the process. As for Doncaster, there’s not exactly a lot left for them to do this season. The Rovers are stuck in 17th, way off anything at the top of the table and just about clear of the relegation zone. They are in better form than Bradford however – if not by much – with 1 win, 3 losses and 7 draws in League One in 2018. Despite the gap in points, there’s a sickness around the visitors at the moment that’s hard to shake, with Spreadex offering a Doncaster/Bradford Goal Supremacy spread of 0.2-0.4 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.35-2.55.
