Can Notts County pull off a shock and knock Peterborough out of the FA Cup 2nd round at 7.45pm on BT Sport 1? The start of the month saw Notts snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat. Initially the game looked cut and dry, with Peterborough up 2-0 after 15 minutes. However Grand McCann’s side began to unravel just before the break, as Adam Campbell pulled one back for the hosts and Lee Angol was sent off for the visitors. The Posh managed to hold onto their precarious lead for most of the second half, only for a 94th minute equaliser from Louis Laing to force the fixture to a replay. The interim games have seen a further divergence in fortune between the two sides. In League One Peterborough now sit in 6th place following back to back wins against Chesterfield and Charlton. And while they only just about holding onto their play-off place, they can rest easy that only the league’s top 2 teams have a better goal tally so far this season. Gwion Edwards and Tom Nichols both have 8 goals in all competitions, and sit at Super Mega PGMs of 22-27 and 39-46 respectively, with Marcus Maddison, on 6 goals, at 30-36. Over in League Two, meanwhile, Notts County are stranded in 20th place, just 1 point above the relegation zone as defeats to Barnet and Wycombe extended their losing streak to 5 games. Up front the aforementioned Campbell, who heads into Tuesday night at a Super Mega PGM of 12-16, has been their best bet in the FA Cup, scoring a brace to ensure a replay in round 1 before nabbing that late equaliser against Peterborough. He is joined by Jonathan Stead, at 28-33, and Vadaine Oliver, at 16-20. Though they fluffed their lines at the start of December, Tuesday should be a pretty routine home win for the Posh, with Spreadex offering a Peterborough/Notts County Goal Supremacy spread of 1.2-1.4 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.15-3.35.
