Can Swansea try and keep up with the promotion chasing pack with a win at Hull this Saturday? The Swans have been incredibly inconsistent this season, unable to rack anything more than 2 back-to-back wins at a time. It doesn’t bode well then for this weekend that they’ve been victorious in their last 2 fixtures, coming away from Brentford with a 3-2 victory before beating Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium. That leaves them in 9th place and on 32 points, 4 adrift of Middlesbrough in 6th. As for Hull, they’re facing another unremarkable season – and that’s if they are lucky. In 17th place, only 5 points separate the Tigers from Millwall in 22nd, the kind of meagre gap that could easily be bridged with one bad fortnight. They have, however, been fair better since the end of October. Before then, Hull had just 2 wins in their first 14 Championship games; now they’ve got 4 wins, 3 draws and just 1 loss in their last 8, a significant turnaround in form that, if you didn’t know better, would suggest a change in management, instead of the continued tenure of Nigel Adkins. Though they are separated by 8 places, the hosts just about have the advantage in this pre-Xmas fixture, with Spreadex offering a Hull/Swansea Goal Supremacy spread of 0-0.2 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.55-2.75.
