Can Scotland fight their way into the Nations League’s B-tier with a victory over Israel, at 7.45pm on Sky Sports Main Event? Despite being level on points with Andi Herzog’s men, the Scots have to win on Tuesday night if they are to get promoted (and secure a guaranteed place in the Euro 2020 qualifying play-offs). A 2-1 loss in Israel, heartbreakingly thanks to a 75th minute own goal from Kieran Tierney, means that on a head-to-head basis Alex McLeish’s side are currently trailing their visitors. There is evidence, however, that Scotland can overturn that deficit. They trounced Albania – who managed to beat Israel 1-0 in Elbasan – both home and away, a 2-0 win in the former followed by a 4-0 victory in the latter last week. Celtic winger James Forrest was the ace of that game, his 2nd half brace leaving him with a Super Mega PGM of 16-20. Ahead of him are Swansea’s Olivier McBurnie and MLS-star Johnny Russell at 25-30, with old hand Steven Fletcher at 31-37. As for the Israelis, news that QPR’s Tomer Hemed may return from injury is a boost to their promotion hopes. Hemed heads into the game at a Super Mega PGM of 13-17, behind Eran Zahavi at 16-20 and Munas Dabbur at 18-22. Though they lost in Haifa, the hosts appear to have the edge in League C Group 1’s final game, with Spreadex offering a Scotland/Israel Goal Supremacy spread of 0.6-0.8 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.35-2.55.
