Although 'Les Bleus' will be missing some key players from their 2018 triumph like N'golo Kante and Paul Pogba through injury, will their squad depth see them through here? WHAT ARE THE WORLD CUP BETTING ODDS ON FRANCE IN GROUP D?

Two-time winners (1998 & 2018) and current champions France will come into Qatar as third-favourites to lift the trophy behind South American duo Brazil and Argentina but will fancy their chances of winning back-to-back World Cups with the likes of Ballon d'Or winner Karim Benzema and young superstar Kylian Mbappe in their ranks. Although key midfielders N'golo Kante and Paul Pogba will be missing through injury here, few teams in this tournament can boast the squad depth of the French, and they are expected to be a formidable side to stop - although they distinctly underperformed at the Euros last year.

'Les Bleus' come into this campaign as overwhelming group favourites to win Group D, with an opening spread of 18.5 - 20 on the binary 25-10-5-0 market. This means that the market settles at 25 if they come top, 10 if they finish second, 5 if they finish third, and 0 if they finish bottom. On the fixed odds, they are available at 40/85 to win the group, 1/14 to qualify, and 15/2 not to qualify. In terms of their odds of becoming outright champions, their Tournament Winner odds are 13/2 on the fixed odds and with a spread price of 36 - 40.

With a multitude of attacking threat in their ranks, the key attacking talisman are still likely to be Benzema and Mbappe. The Real Madrid striker has enjoyed his best-ever individual season over the last year and is available at 10/1 to be the top goalscorer in the competition, with a Tournament PGM spread of 100 - 115 and a Tournament Goals spread of 1.9 - 2.2. PSG's Mbappe, meanwhile - who was perhaps the key player to France's 2018 win - is available at 8/1 to be Top Goalscorer, with a Total Tournament Goals spread of 2.45 - 2.75, and TGM spread of 130 - 145. On the Highest Team Scoring Index market, France are available at 22.5 - 25.5. In this market, the top scoring nation will have a market settlement of 100, with the second-highest settling at 50 and third-highest at 25.

WHAT ARE THE WORLD CUP BETTING ODDS ON DENMARK IN GROUP D?

The Danes became many neutrals' team to support during the Euros last year after the horror of Christian Eriksen's cardiac arrest on the pitch, but they proved to be a formidable team in their own right and charged through to the semi-finals where they only marginally lost out to England. They have also shown their strength more recently with notable victories in the Nations League - including a home & away double over their group rivals here France. That will surely give them a psychological boost in their aims of qualifying for the knockout stages.

With this being their sixth World Cup appearance, the Danes have only exited at the group stages once. Their best showing was a quarter-final in 1998 and exited at the round of 16 on every other occasion. In terms of the betting odds ahead of their group campaign here, Denmark are available with an opening spread of 12 - 13.5 on the Group D index, and on the fixed odds at 9/4 to win the group, and 2/5 to qualify or 21/10 not to qualify.

Man Utd's Eriksen has proven his class this season after his miraculous recovery and will likely be a focal point to the Danish side's attacking threat in Qatar. Will he be able to add more chapters to his fairytale return by getting on the scoresheet for his side? He begins with a Tournament Goals spread of 1.2 - 1.4 and a Tournament PGM spread of 60 - 70.

WHAT ARE THE WORLD CUP BETTING ODDS ON AUSTRALIA IN GROUP D?

Australia will also be featuring in their sixth World Cup here and will be hopeful of matching their feat from the 2006 tournament, when they progressed from the group for the first and only time. That will certainly be no easy task here as they will be underdogs behind the two European sides, but the Australians have a reputation as a plucky side who are always up for a battle, and the conditions in Qatar may be favourable for them to adapt to.

Australia come into the tournament with a Group D index spread of 3.5 - 5, slightly ahead of Tunisia as third-favourites, and on the fixed odds at 18/1 to top the group, and 15/4 to qualify and 2/11 to not qualify. In the 2018 World Cup, Australia only managed to score two goals - their lowest ever total in a World Cup. They are available at 11/1 to be the lowest scoring team in the tournament here.

On our team group markets, the Aussies are available on the Team Group Points Won market at 2.15 - 2.35. Would you buy or sell?

WHAT ARE THE WORLD CUP BETTING ODDS ON TUNISIA IN GROUP D?

And finally, group D's other outsiders will be the African representatives Tunisia, yet another side in this group who will be competing in their sixth World Cup. They have never managed to progress from the group stages and may be recently best remembered by some punters as a team who tested England during the 2018 group stages when Harry Kane scored a last-minute winner for a 2-1 victory.

In terms of the betting odds, Tunisia are available with a Group Index spread of 3 - 4.5, and on the fixed odds at 16/1 to win Group D, 10/3 to qualify and 2/9 not to qualify. Defensive issues have blighted them in all of their World Cup appearances thus far, and they conceded eight goals in just three matches in 2018. Their Group Goals Conceded spread is available at 5.15 - 5.45 ahead of the tournament.

Will the Tunisians manage to break new ground and progress from the group?
