The Championship season has reached its finale with the last matchweek of the 2023/24 season this weekend. Leicester have already been crowned division champions, but there is plenty still left to play for with the second automatic promotion spot, final play-off line-up and relegation victims will all be confirmed.
The Sky Sports cameras will be at three grounds, with Birmingham v Norwich as the Canaries aim to secure a play-off place, as well as two crucial matches in the hunt for automatic promotion as Leeds take on Southampton and Ipswich face a Huddersfield side desperate to survive relegation.
We preview that and the rest of the Partner Clubs fixtures from Matchweek 46 below!
The heat is on for West Brom as the Baggies face a final home match with their play-off destiny still in their hands, but they will need to stop a highly worrying run of form in which they have lost their last three matches and fallen to within genuine risk of missing out on what seemed a fairly comfortable position not so long ago.
The home side will likely be comforted by the fact that their visitors have nothing to necessarily play for and in the midst of an even longer losing run. The Baggies have also won the last two meetings between these sides, including a crushing 4-0 win in the reverse fixture this season. West Brom have been installed as strong favourites with a Supremacy spread of 1.1 - 1.3.
In our football spread betting markets, you can buy or sell Total Goals at 2.55 - 2.75 and Total Goal Minutes are available at 129 - 139.
Relegation seems to be a looming for Huddersfield after a disappointing season and it will now need a miracle to save the Terriers from the confirmed drop to League One. They will have to win handsomely while hoping Plymouth lose to Hull and Birmingham don’t beat Norwich. Even if those results go their way, they must also somehow overhaul Plymouth’s goal difference, which is currently some 15 goals better than theirs!
Meanwhile, Ipswich have perhaps been the revelations of the season with an almost-meteoric rise over the last 24 months potentially culminating in confirmed automatic promotion to the top flight if they manage to secure at least a draw here.
The match odds have Huddersfield available at 9/1, with Ipswich at 2/9 or a draw at 5/1. Spreadex also have several PRICE BOOSTS for the match, including #NameIt - Match Markets - Ipswich To Win & Both Teams To Score - NOW 9/5, and Kieffer Moore to score a hat-trick - NOW 28/1!
Although a match-up devoid of anything of note to play for, already-relegated Rotherham and mid-table Cardiff will look to give their fans something to celebrate to wrap up the season and set the tone for the next campaign.
The Welsh side are pre-match favourites with a Supremacy spread of Cardiff/Rotherham 0.25 - 0.45, with the fixed odds prices on match odds having Cardiff at 23/20, Rotherham and the draw at 23/10. Over 2.5 goals is at Evens.
In one of the few final-day matches where both sides have something to play for, Norwich travel to relegation-threatened Birmingham knowing they have likely already done enough to secure their place in the play-offs, needing just a point to make it a mathematical certainty. Meanwhile, the home side need a victory which even then might not be enough.
In terms of the Supremacy spread, Norwich come in as slight underdogs with a spread of Birmingham/Norwich 0.05 - 0.25. The fixed odds match odds have Birmingham at 13/10 and Norwich at 7/4, with the draw at 11/4. Spreadex also have several PRICE BOOSTS, including 2-1 Birmingham BOOSTED to 10/1 and Jay Stansfield to score anytime - NOW 17/10!
In another match with little on the line for either side, partner club Watford will be looking to end the season on a high with a morale-boosting victory at the Riverside in a managerial battle of two former Man Utd stars Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverley.
Watford are underdogs to get the win at 7/2 with Boro at 4/6. The draw is available at 3/1. Total Goal Minutes are available at 150 - 160 with Total Goals at 2.95 - 3.15.
Principal partners Sunderland have had a hugely disappointing season and recent results have put paid hopes of even a top-half finish, but the Black Cats will be desperate to end their campaign with a victory in front of their home fans, although this will be far from an easy task as they host a Sheffield Wednesday side rejuvenated of late and requiring at least a point to secure safety in what would be a remarkable escape.
The match odds ahead of this one have Sunderland available at 13/8, with the draw at 21/10 and Sheffield Wednesday at 17/10. 1st Match Goal is available at 36 - 39, with both teams to score at 8/11.
Finally, Blackburn will round off their season with a trip to newly-crowned champions Leicester, and circumstances have put Rovers in an unenviable position on the final day. Should Sheffield Wednesday pick up points while both Plymouth and Birmingham win, then Rovers must avoid defeat themselves or they will be relegated.
They will likely be hoping that the hosts will have their foot off the pedal slightly as celebrations are likely still at the front of mind for the Foxes before their return to the top flight. However, the home side are unlikely to do any favours for the visitors and will be sure to want to put on a show for their home fans.
Leicester are indeed favoured to get the win at 13/20 with Blackburn at 4/11. The draw is at 11/4, with the Supremacy at 0.8 - 1 in Leicester's favour. Total Goal Minutes are available at 157 - 167 with Total Goals at 3.1 - 3.3.
