The 2024/25 Championship season is underway and the Sky Sports cameras will be at three grounds this weekend for match week 2 with Coventry taking on Oxford Utd in the Friday night kick-off, as well as Portsmouth hosting Luton on Saturday afternoon and Sunderland hosting Sheffield Wednesday at lunchtime on Sunday.
We preview that and the rest of the Partner Clubs fixtures from Matchweek 2 below!
Principal partners Sunderland will take on new partner club Sheffield Wednesday with both sides looking to start the season with two wins from two. At the time of writing, Wednesday are the table toppers after an impressive 4-0 win over Plymouth, followed by a midweek win in the EFL Cup. Meanwhile, Sunderland also started strongly by defeating Cardiff 2-0.
In terms of the match odds, the home side begin as favourites with a Supremacy spread of 0.2 - 0.4. On the fixed odds, Sunderland are 23/20 with the draw at 5/2 and Wednesday at 21/10. Jack Clarke to Score Anytime has also been BOOSTED to 11/5!
In our football spread betting markets, you can buy or sell Total Goals at 2.55 - 2.75 and Total Goal Minutes are available at 130 - 140.
Watford fans will surely be buzzing with the Hornets' start to the season as an exciting 3-2 victory in their league opener was followed up by a 5-0 demolition of MK Dons in the EFL Cup, and they will now look to make it two league wins from two as they host visitors Stoke, who have had an equally strong start to the season.
Watford will need to turn the tables in this match-up compared to their performance last season, with a loss and a draw in their league H2H fixtures in the 2023/24 season.
The match odds ahead of this one have Watford available at 13/8, with Stoke at 17/10 or a draw at 21/10. Neither meeting last season had more than two goals scored and Under 2.5 match goals is available at 8/11.
West Brom missed out on promotion in the play-offs last season and will be hoping to go one better this season as they aim to return to the Premier League and they made a strong start in the league in matchday 1 with a comeback victory over QPR. However, the Baggies followed that up with a disappointing EFL Cup exit against Fleetwood Town.
They will need to reset and bounce back strongly at the Hawthorns against visiting Leeds, who are the current favourites in our outright markets to top the league standings. However, they have not had a convincing start to the season themselves after a 3-3 draw with Portsmouth in their league opener and a convincing exit from the EFL Cup too.
The away side are pre-match favourites here though with a Supremacy spread of Leeds/West Brom 0.25 - 0.45, with the fixed odds prices on match odds having West Brom at 23/10, Leeds at 11/10 and the draw at 5/2. Both Teams to Score is available at 4/6.
Another Spreadex Derby takes place at Carrow Road as Norwich take on Blackburn with both sides having started the season involved in very high-scoring affairs. The Canaries fell to a disappointing opening league defeat 2-0 to newly-promoted Oxford United, but followed that up in the EFL Cup with a 4-3 win over Stevenage. Meanwhile, Blackburn have certainly found their shooting boots by claiming a 4-2 win over Derby in the league and a 6-1 battering of Stockport in the EFL Cup.
In terms of the Supremacy spread, Norwich come in as favourites here with a spread of Norwich/Blackburn 0.35 - 0.55. The fixed odds match odds have the home side at Evens and Blackburn at 13/5, with the draw at 5/2. The last H2H at Carrow Road saw Blackburn claim a 3-1 win and Over 3.5 goals is available at 2/1, with BTTS at 8/13.
New Partner Club Preston face a trip to South Wales this weekend as they take on Swansea on Saturday and will be looking to bounce back from defeat in their league opener, with Swansea also having an identical start to the campaign with a tight league loss followed by a win in the EFL Cup.
These two sides traded 2-1 victories at home in both of last season's H2Hs, and you can back Swansea to win 2-1 here at 8/1. Preston begin as underdogs to get the win at 13/5 with Swansea at 21/20. The draw is available at 23/10. Total Goal Minutes are available at 119 - 129 with Total Goals at 2.35 - 2.55. 1st Match Goal is available at 37 - 40.
And finally, our other new Partner Club Millwall will travel to Bristol City, looking for their first league points of the new campaign. While The Lions fell to that 3-2 defeat to Watford in matchday 1, City began with a 1-1 draw with Hull and followed this up with a loss to Coventry in the EFL Cup.
The match odds ahead of this one have Millwall available at 29/10, with the draw at 9/4 and Bristol City at evens. 1st Match Goal is available at 39 - 42, with both teams to score at evens. The visitors came away with a 1-0 victory in their last visit to the City Ground and you can back the same result here at 17/2.
