Can Tottenham pick up their first points of a disappointing Champions League campaign when they travel to PSV Eindhoven, at 5.55pm on BT Sport 3? There’s maybe something missing for Spurs at the moment. Yes, they’ve won their last 4 league games on the trot, and are only 2 points adrift of Man City and Liverpool in 1st and 2nd place. Yet they’ve recently been muted going forwards, failing to get beyond the 2 goal mark despite facing bottom half fodder like Brighton, Huddersfield, Cardiff and West Ham. And though he has 6 goals in 11 appearances, a seemingly tired Harry Kane hasn’t quite been at his best; nevertheless he sits at a sizeable Super Mega PGM of 56-66. As for their European form, Spurs have lost both their fixtures so far, the last minute heart-break of their Milanese defeat against Inter followed by a 4-2 collapse at Wembley against Barcelona. That’s a similar run to PSV. While the Dutch side are unbeaten domestically – they’ve scored 38 goals in 9 Eredivisie games – in Europe they’ve been outclassed, losing to both their Spanish and Italian groupmates. Both teams, then, are in desperate need of a win on Wednesday night, and Spurs might just be better positioned to do so, with Spreadex offering a Tottenham/PSV Eindhoven (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.3-0.5 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.9-3.1. A bit later on Liverpool then look to overcome early October’s European blip when they host Red Star Belgrade, at 8pm on BT Sport 2. From the thrilling highs of 3-2 win over PSG came the bitter disappointment of a 1-0 loss in Napoli, sank by a 90th minute goal from Lorenzo Insigne. That leaves Group C pretty open, with the Italians on 4 points, the Reds on 3, PSG on 2 and Red Star Belgrade on 1. In the league, meanwhile, Liverpool are yet to lose. Yet, a bit like Tottenham, they haven’t been quite as full-throated as you’d expect, especially considering the presence of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah. With 16 goals they are on the lower scoring end of the top 5, with both Mane and Salah on 4 apiece. Still, they could have some fun on Wednesday, with the forwards at huge Super Mega PGMs of 63-73 and 91-106 respectively Jurgen Klopp will want a big win at Anfield given how tight the group could be, with Spreadex offering a Liverpool/Red Star Belgrade Goal Supremacy spread of 2.95-3.15 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.85-4.05.
