Can Arsenal leapfrog West Brom with a win at the Emirates on Monday evening? It is telling that last weekend’s 0-0 draw at Chelsea was seen as a step up for Arsenal. While a clean sheet at Stamford Bridge is nothing to sniff at, the fact that fans (and likely Arsene Wenger) were relieved the Gunners’ avoided the kind of battering they got at Anfield a few weeks prior doesn’t exactly speak highly of their chances as title contenders. And, to be honest, that’s fair enough. They’ve only picked up 2 league wins so far this season, against Leicester and Bournemouth, with losses to Stoke and Liverpool joining that draw against Chelsea. Elsewhere they could only scrape a 1-0 win over Doncaster, at home, in the EFL Cup, and were rattled in their Europa League visit from Koln (admittedly before battling back in the 2nd half to win 3-1). They’ve been pretty inconsistent on the goals front as well. Danny Welbeck, their top scorer with just 3 goals, is out for a month injured, leaving summer signing Alexandre Lacazette and Olivier Giroud, both at a Super Mega PGM of 55-63, alongside Alexis Sanchez, at 44-51 to get something going up front. As for West Brom, after a decent start, with back-to-back wins over Bournemouth and Burnley, the Baggies have already begun to trail off (they’re still 1 point above Arsenal mind). Sandwiched between draws against Stoke and West Ham was a surprising 3-1 loss to Championship runners-up Brighton, with a 2-1 EFL Cup defeat to Man City thrown in last Wednesday for good measure. Even with a record Premier League appearance-setting Gareth Barry, Tony Pulis’ side will likely struggle on Monday, with Spreadex offering an Arsenal/West Brom Goal Supremacy spread of 1.5-1.7 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.85-3.05.
